I've been been most improvident, putting 1200km on Betty over the weekend after picking her up without really considering the consequences thereof.
Realising, rather belatedly, that continuing to thrash her around the North Island for another couple of thousand kilometres over the next week without performing the scheduled 1000km service might not be a good idea, and also realising that I'm a complete numpty with a spanner, I made a few desperate phone calls this morning.
After a few minutes of rising panic, I got around to calling Holeshot, and guess what?
They immediately agreed to take Betty in and service her, on Christmas Eve, at zero notice. I suspect that the workshop guys are going to go home later today as a result.
I dropped her off an hour ago, and they cheerfully chucked me the keys to the Mighty GS500 Loaner to continue on my merry way and complete my day's business, too.
I am most impressed.
For what it's worth, Holeshot will be getting all my parts (first order: one front brake lever) and servicing business for Betty from now on.
