Well I figured we should just commit to it. If people don't want to go that way then we'll split the group

Well I have just been over to the Gretta Valley Pub
And cook will be on duty for short order meals.
So if you have not had tea, then this may be your answer

Ah feck it! I knew I should have checked that thread again this afternoon instead of finishing the payroll off. Wouldn't have made a difference anyway I suppose as I can't leave town until I get my new front tyre on tomorrow night anyway.
Hope you guys had a good night.

    Was a great night.

One group headed off to Doversher? The rest of us (ie all the cool people) headed up north to Greta Valley.

It was an awesome ride and plenty of fun was had by all. Atleast those that went north anyway.

To those guys on the smaller 250's, Casualty and the guy with a seat for a tank and a tank for a helmet holder, how did you guys go getting back into town. I know things would have been close for Casualty. How much gas did you have left seat for a tank guy? I know you got back to town because you carried on past me when I turned off Papinui road.

Was a great night, made it nicely into town to do the thing, I went along with the crowd going to Greta, via Weka pass. Was a good value feeding and watering.

Me bike was very happy, I think it was very pleased with the lettuce that it had been fed a couple of days ago. (in other words the couple of bits of CF) I am sure she just wanted to up and go, had to pull back on her reins.

24 degrees up yonder, and only dropping back through Amberly back to Rangiora to 15 degree. Still very summerish. Bloody 5km of shingle home sucked, Freshly graded and the bike realy felin like it was flip floppin all over the place. All good fun.

The pictures below... I did not abuse my camera tonite, just a couple of shots.

    1-Parked Greta
    2-2nd Park Greata
3-Takin a look under the lid where the lid is stored
    4-3rd Great Park up
    5-1/2 the group yappin
6-Pit stop road side to Moon shot......

    Thankyou people.

A great evening tootling about, thanks girls and guys. Just need to set to work replacing the plastic bits on the scooter removed by the vacuum created as I was passed by a myopic R1.

    My boot is so 1337...

I have a pretty poor fuel economy and range (I think the worst or close out of the 250's), and I could have gotten away with a single re-fuel in Amberley (either on the way up or down). I was conservative and did so both ways though - the servo's in Amberley are open late, so it's all good.

Was a good turn-out, had I think either 29 or 30 bikes all-up at BK Moorhouse.

I was gushing over mine by the time we got home - what a beautiful night, warm, moonlit. Cruising is definately my style and it seemed like me and the B0nne could have gone on forever. Lots of entertainment at Greta Valley stop, survival stories of bikers and cell phones. The new owner of the pub came and said "hi" - isn't it lovely when they introduce themselves. He's looking forward to the rally coming up soon too.

Left my camera on the bed at home, shame 'cos it was a lovely sunset too. Thanks for posting pics Ghost rider ~ how do you do that so quickly?!

I'm always a bit hesitant to join in on the rides, being so slow, but once I get there I'm fine. It's great that people wait and pull over to point out the way thank you. Even a volunteer crowd of pedestrians pointing out the Greta Valley turnoff - that impressed me.

You gorgeous guys can certainly pull the girls. lol.

Ha ha, Digital, Digital makes things so quick uh.
OH! to remember the days of old, the film sitting in the camera for a few weeks, then waiting some time for it to be processed, and seemingly handing over so much money to see ya shots.
It was only last year that I relented to the fact digital was the way to go.

We had a nice run to Devauchelles. Bit breezy at times-that NE wing can be quite turbulent at times on the Akaroa GP circuit!! Perhaps it was just the wake off the R1s..........!

Yeah, a pretty nice ride last night. It was good to do something different!!

I was saying to a couple of guys that that Greta Valley road reminded me alot of the back country roads around the Wairarapa.

It's great to see such a big turnout and apparently some of the bike shops around town have been promoting these rides!!

Sorry about the confusion at the carpark. I'm no organiser.

I really need to remember my clear visor!! Cheers to Spuds and GB for the cruise back to Chch.

Sounds like the whole evening turned out great, enough interest in both directions to have two successful runs.
    Well done everyone.
