    Hey neigbour
I think we need to know where they are going each week,
as you and I know its a bit of a ride to BK and then afta the run home again.
Especially as winter nights get closer. And dont say HTFU....we already are!
Is it possibile for us north cant guys to know where the ride is going to?
I was unde the impression it was out our way this week, but could not confirm that.
Seems to me to be a bit silly to ride to BK then back out here when we could meet at Woodend / Waikari / Rotherum even
At least if I give whoever is in the know my Cell phone number you could text me!

Hope you had a really good ride tonight peoples

How about a ride north sometime, meet these two North Cants at Waipara then head inland somewhere from there for a drink and a natter?

I'll be up for that, as long as people don't go too fast on the straight and boring bits...

Well 14 braved it out tonight.

Over dyers, over gebbies, over to douvocelles and back. Great ride except for hill top which I totally missed due to the fog. Made for an interesting ride though! Hop everyone made it back (Helen u have enough gas?)

Thanks to TA (Always looking out for me!) and the guy on the Ducati (Sorry missed ure name..)

I reckon a ride north is on the cards. Since no suggestions came forward on the thread this week we just made the decision at BK. But if we can have a route before then even better

Took us (me mum helped!) about a month or two to finalize my place!

Look on the bright side, as a home owner your handyman skills are bound to go up! I did plastering and painting in my kitchen over Xmas holidays - first time to!

Hope you got a good size garage for all the tools.

And room for a beer cooler

    Edit -

What I meant to say was a room that is a beer cooler.

Yes, pity we couldn't settle on a route online beforehand this week, but I will never complain at Duvauchelle.

Here's a few rough pics... after a while I guess they all look the same from one trip to the next...

    1-at BK
    2- BK
    3- Gebbies pass
    4- more Gebbies
    5- Little River
    6- climbing toward the Hilltop.

That was a nice ride indeed... I had been hoping to ride to akaroa during the afternoon (heard lots of good things about it), and work delayed me enough not to be able to... then I get to ride it that evening Interesting weather tho, I think I got to experience all in one ride. Sun, Rain, Cloud, Fog (ok, low level cloud, but same effect of almost zero visibility)

Ta to phoenixgtr and others for getting me back to my street... real men don't need maps... just more time

It was good indeed to tag along with an interesting bunch of guys (and girls)
on an interesting mix of bikes....was good to put some faces to KB names.
Thoroughly enjoyed the ride, wil definitely be back on my next trip off...

No worries mate. It was good to meet ya. You're gonna have a blast on the south island roads!!

Pretty good ride last night. I've realised how much rain doesn't slow me down. Maybe thats a bad thing... It's just that when I was living in Wellington I used to ride every day - rain, hail or shine, so I got a fair bit of wet weather experience.

    Next week it's Waitangi Day

Mrs Oakie and I tend to just amble along at about the speed limit or slightly above even on the straight and boring bits. I'm sure there are a few others like that around too. Perhaps it would be a good ride to split into fast group / slow group?
Mrs Oakie does seem to be developing a sporadic 'need for speed' though. She suggested we go out to Kaiapoi on Saturday morning just so we could come back on the motorway and go fast. The way she said "I need to go fast" with that wee sparkle in her eye told me so much about where she's at with her biking.....

That was a lot of fun - apart from the wet!! I gues no one else went home via Gebbies, I waited 10 minutes at Teddington then tootled home on my lonesome.
Quite spirited between Little River and McQueens Valley Road eh JAS-1100. If you'd like some of your oil back there appears to be a light coating on my fairing and helmet

Might see yers next time around

    Cheers

LOL SkinnyBM... we went via Gebbies/Dyers on the way home, but was messing about swapping bikes with Helen at Cooptown after most had left, and again near Teddington. By the time we got there we could have easily been 15minutes behind you since you had a 'spirited' ride.
