Well, I thought it was quite a good ride tonight. The Summit Road was quite clear for a change, and apart from the chilliness (thank god for hot grips!), I quite enjoyed myself. Haven't done the full length of the Summit for a while, but yeah, that was good
Helen - I'll beep next time, okay?![]()
Soapbox house of cards and glass, so don't go tossing your stones around.
You musta been.... high. You musta been...
Well folks was nice to see everyone who was able to get out for the last ride before daylight savings ends, it was a shame a few more could not make it.
The summit road seems to have been a great success judging by comments and is no doubt a valuable learning ride, we really could not have asked for a better night having been treated to a great sunset and chilly but clear conditions.
Mentioned tonight was the fact that a workshop has been organised for a spanner evening with a fair amount of interest shown, it would be good if we can agree to a date and perhaps start working on finding out what folks want to learn, if we need then another thread can be started for this.
The Halswell pub was a nice destination stop and we could use that in the future, they seem to be hospitable and had a good range of food on offer so if anyone has route suggestions for perhaps shorter rides finishing here then please out them forward.
Thank D for offering to help push me off the bike, I was worse getting back on then trying to get off when I got home was a mission.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.
Had hoped that I could have got a ride out, mentioned it to Mrs Bullet when I arrived in from work.... but the smell of roast lamb was overpowering, and that seduced me to remain home bound.
Bugger bugger. The 07-08 summer has been a mighty nice one. Sure hope to make a few winterish rides. The Brass and the like... Will continue to check this thread for any activities....![]()
Good run, especially the little adventure bit that we three bikes did with sheep, shingle, dirt and gates in the last of the twilight down Ahuriri Road at the bottom of Gebbies Pass.
Was good timing to pop back on to the back of the middle group of roadies when we got back to the main road.
Pics from the summit regroup.
