The latest edition to Suzi....alarm time.

    Hey all,

As some of you know I get my Suzi RF sometime this coming week, infact as I type this post Jim2 is riding it to Napier...kind of him ehh.

Any ways as a electronics / communications tech (police radio tech also ) I have access to suppliers that supply (duh) electronic goods for a good discounted price. So I thought, with the latest influx of crime I better get an alarm. I picked up what is called, wait for it...............a Steel Mate from one of our suppliers. It does all ya normal shock sensor, tamper proof etc etc. Also comes with a 120dB siren, 2 slim remotes, flashing LED and a 12 month warrenty...not bad eh. Well thats not the good part....the good part its the price.

I will install this little beastie after I fit the Kiwibiker stickers (once Spankme sends them out)....gotta represent eh!. I will then report back on the ease of installation and how good the alarm works.

If any of you guys want one I can supply them, they normally take less then a week to arrive once Ive put the order in. Your looking at around $75 - $80 to your door for the alarm with 12 months warrenty.
If I order more than 5 the price drops like another $10 or $15...I'll have to check.

    Here are some pictures.

Not bad. Does it pick up all the bands the cops use?
Have you arranged where your bike is to stay until you can pick up??
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

No, but I do have police radios at work

I think Jim2 is leaving the bike at Gixxer 4 Evers house, by the looks of things I wont beable to pick the bike up because of work so I have orginised Conroys to pick it up...however because hes off the main stretch Im not sure if they will pick it up from there...Im yet to here back from Conroy even though I have paid.

If they say no to that pick up can it stay over at your house? You work from home dont you?

Hmmm... must plot way to get alarm for shiny motorcycle...

For some reason, the fact SWMBO has just had a $350 system put in her cage means squat when it comes to protecting my toys...

$75 is sweet f all to protect a $3000 plus or even less bike..it will take me around an hour to fit, which is nothing. Worth every penny/second of my money/time.

MSTRS - I rang Conroys and its all set, they are happy to pick it up from Gixxer 4 Evers house. If anything changes etc I will keep ya informed.

    Cheers.

    Agreed.

I get a bit edgy parking the bike sometimes... just rang her what controls my budget, got a yes.

Of course, it was after a long pause that says I am in the shit for asking, but a yes is in the pipework, so will hopefully flick you a PM after work.

    Mmmm... toys...

as mentioned $80 is cheap for a bit of peace of mind. Once yours is installed report back with your findings - including how loud the siren really is when its triggered. with the new bike scheduled to arrive in precisely one of these days I'll probably in for an alarm
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

Sounds good mate, I get the bike on Wends so I will install the alarm on Sat...once I have done a couple hunderd KMs on it. I will be installing one of Warlocks very loud horns and I will wire it into that...however I will try the siren that comes with the alarm.
