    Wink

When I first got into bikes back in the 70's the only bikers that didnt wave back were the so called "Bikies" who basically hated Japanese bikes. Now that I've been back into bikes since the late 90's the main thing I've noticed is that hardly any biker waves back, no matter what they ride. Is this because the descendents of the "Bikies" have to ride Japanese etc and don't want anyone to know its them?

If unable to wave, then a nod will suffice - surely

    .

I always wave at any type of bike - even scooters/dirt bikes, though if mid-corner will usually nod instead.

Most bikes wave back, if not it's their loss, not mine.

I usually wave at cars towing bikes on a trailer also.

Ditto here two smoker. Ill always either wave or nod. I may be on a small, semi sports bike bike I still take time out to wave at others. Besides, it gets lonley riding by yourself, so I appriciate waves from other bikies.

I dont mind harleys, some are good enough to wave, to the others I have to say,

As I've said a few times before - I apply this to sports bike riders too....and I'll keep saying it whenever this topic comes up - or for some unknown reason sports bike riders wave at me...

I suppose it can be because you wave at them as well? It could also be that you only have 2 wheels on the road, same as them, I try wave at every bike.

I dont hold grudges but I do appriciate a wave. :spudwhat:

No,I don't hold grudges,I don't care at all - I've been riding for quite sometime,we didn't used to wave...so I still don't.But I get a bit of a sore throat trying to swallow all this goodwill to other riders when my experiance out there is somewhat different....and I don't back down,I'll be in every thread about waving with a contrary view - keep em coming!

Up here in northland all the bikes I have passed I've waved to and have always got a nod or wave back. Must have something to do with the relaxed ways up here.

Fair enough. We all have our valid opinions. Ill still wave while others may not. I dont hold it against them, its all in personal preference

Stopped at Papakura Autobahn and got a few looks down the nose from other bikers when filling up, so feeling suitably small decided not to approach any of the groups hanging around. I'm pretty shy anyway around new people, so this may have just been my perception. Went off on my way and had 2 people wave to me on the whole ride. I lost count of how many refused to acknowledge my wave as we passed - and only one rider was on a BMW! So to all of those out there on sports bikes, don't be rude. I may be on a 250 now, but that's all going to change soon. The one thing I've always loved about riding is the general camaraderie, so I was a bit put out at the lack of it out there today.
For all those non-wavers, this is for you:
If I can I'll wave, if I'm leaned right over in a courner, I can't. So if I went past you going hell for leather around a courner, then this is for you
