I do because I have little kids. I'm normally up by 6:30am at the latest. We're going to Carterton for a Coffee, Masterton, Pongaroa via myterious back ways, Pahiatua, Mangamaire, Pahiatua Track, Tokomaru, Shannon, Levin, and Home. I'd see you about 4 in the afternoon.

Make sure you introduce yourself. I'm the fat, bald, aggro looking "oldie" on the Yamaha TRX 850. I have a blue Nolan helmet.

Well, I haven't been called a quarter too many times before...

Yep, didn't know whether to laugh or cry as I heard the muffled "awhh fuck" only to look up and see a black helmet on it's way to the deck closely followed by the spick and span 748.

It's a pretty good bike alright. I test rode it myself before Her_B4 took the reigns. Doesn't have nearly as much get up and go as a modern 6 hundy, but then it's not supposed to is it. And once the paintwork, indicator, mirror and pride is all fixed it should be a pretty good package.

    Enjoy!

Is that the one with the white tail and lots of carbon fibre bits and it's about an '04 model? If it is, I saw it out at the Riverbank maybe 6 months ago and it was beeeeeautiful!

Pleased to hear you have the new bike but sorry to hear about the drop. What happened, was it one of those simple foot-slip moments?
    Cheers

Congrats on new bike. I definately know how you feel When I decided to get a bike again after an absence of a few years, I managed to crap off 100m down the road from the shop on a busy main road. Not too much damage to bike, broken finger for me, so I headed to a quiet street. Lots of cars parked on either side of the narrow dead end. Tried to turn round and dropped the bugger. Decided it was not the bike for me and got something else!

If you are based in Picton then another sweet day ride would be over the Whangamoa's to Nelson.... and if ya wanta keep riding head through Nelson out the other side and beat up on the Spooners and Hope saddle as far as Kawatiri Junction turn left and boot it thgough the Wairau Vally back to Blenheim...... just an idea.
    cheers DD

We should get some deck chairs and a cooler of drinks and just watch them go by on Sunday sometime.

Congrats on the new bike. Pity it had to start with a little accident. Oh well that's life, Just finished touching up my bike as it's had several in its life time including a couple from me.

Was it a big jump going from 250 to 748?

Chrissy -- see what happens when you get your full licence?

Enjoy your "grown-up" bike. And don't make a habit of dropping it!

Glad to hear you laid your baby down early, shouldn't have to worry about it again now the biker gods will have been apeased(sp?).

Very nice bike, looking foward to some piccies.

Great news Chrissie! Can't wait to clap my eyes on it and the proud new owner grinning ear to ear!
