Dropped it - rode it - bought it - LOVE it...

OK, what is the most embarrassing thing that can happen to you when you are out bike shopping and you go to take a bike for a ride???

    You DROP it...

Where is the most embarrassing place for this to happen?
Yep - right outside the shop

Who did it happen in front of?
EVERYONE including at least TWO KB'ers that I know of.... one of whom leapt to the rescue and hit the kill switch while I limped off in another direction to fume (not so quietly ) as they righted the bike and surveyed the damage. Full marks to Todd from Motormart and Mark for not making me feel like a complete f*ckwit... That came later from one particular quarter...... who kindly offered to announce the incident to the world on my behalf

Unbloodybelievable AND I did it after signing the liability form.... ha ha ha

Not my day you would think???

But no - the day got a hell of a lot better - I took the bike for a burst (and there were more than one or two bursts!!) up to places north (have you got a life now Hooks??) and had an absolute blast of a ride - came back and handed over the dosh...

I am now the proud owner of a bright yellow 2002 Ducati 748 - still in pretty mint condition despite the indicator cover and mirror damage

I wonder if the boss will let me have ANother paid holiday just to ride my bike around lot...

Oh yeah baby !!! ... really glad for ya mate now you can really hoon about in style ... .. shame it's a duc .....

I have to confess though that I did that after bringing the beast out of storage... I took it to work at Ohakea and right in front of the Officers Mess I dropped it whilst backing it up .... my foot slipped and over she went ...
Well now you have post some pics ... so get a camera and do it !! Well done and congrats on the new addition to your family ....Oh by the way .... does this mean the B4 sleeps outside now ..????
A man can move much faster without a millstone around his neck, so if he gets the chance to lose her he'd better drop her and run like heck !! .. (10cc "Modern Man Blues" - Deceptive Bends)

I guess the bike was just letting you know whose boss I hope you get a good run out of it.

    - similar.... hot, noisy and feckin' fast... I would say though that there may a wee bit of competition between them now..... and I know which one I am pickin' to win... ha ha ha

Excellent choice, and probably the equal in performance to a good Japanese 600 four cylinder so you've stuck with your plan I reckon.

Going on a big ride tomorrow, and you're welcome to join us. Leaving Caltex Upper Hutt at 8:30am, and taking the long way back home.

Eeeeexcellent! A quick walk down to the local caltex and get to watch all the bikes going past! Another good thing is that it is just down the road from Church, so that means I am in bike heaven! :P
