Omg man!!! Are you seriously THAT in need of attention? The slightest indiscretion whether right of wrong of the biker & you're on your (self appointed) soap box? Is this what we are to expect from Katman each time a similar post arises? Give it a rest man, for the love of God!

Although I don't agree with the gun part you're totally right. If they feared for their OWN safety they WOULD think twice.

So many seemingly normal law abiding citizens having sporadic fits of God knows what that see's them using a one and a half tonne piece of METAL as a deadly weapon, it really is quite bazaar when you think about it. It reverts us into some sort of prime evil state at the stomp of a peddle. The same goes for a truck vs car or any other vehicle smaller than we are currently operating, there is a part of the brain that tells you that the other vehicle is of no real physical threat to you personally & a prime evil primate emerges beating its testosterone laden chest.

I'm not on the "katman hate" wagon mate, but I think you stepped over the line there!

Mental idiots are out there and it doesn't matter if you're on your bike or in your car... You just might pay more attention to them while on two wheels.

But yeah, I don't know how I would react if I had anyone being that much of an asshole and then got an impression that they were laughing about putting my life at risk... I just might make an exception...

I don't think I've even come close to the line.

While I'll accept that there's some fucked up drivers out there who seem to have no excuse other than they were dropped on their head as a baby, by far the greatest cause of animosity that a lot of car drivers have towards motorcyclists is due to the number of times they've seen motorcyclists squeezing through gaps and collecting wing mirrors along the way, cutting across in front of cars mid corner, lane splitting at warp factor 9 and a myriad of other antics that go towards making us look like a bunch of clowns.

If there were only cars on the road I'd say "go for gold, lets have one big demolition derby and the last car left rolling is the winner".

Trouble is, we're on motorcycles - and motorcycles don't feature very well in demolition derbies.

I'm sorry it's all my fault.

I filtered past a car at the lights and took off reasonably quickly to clear the traffic. My actions no doubt caused this person to try to kill you.

    My deepest and sincerist apologies.

the problem is its very hard to turn the pages of a magazine on the treaffic lights because of the padded gloves, let alone watch a nice movie on the ipod coz I cant press the buttons properly. On top of that the gloves don't feel very good on my "social agenda" so its not gonna help much I reakon. Maybe if I have a nice sexy pic attached to my bike key that will help. Good thinkind there McJim.

While I agree that the behaviour of some bikers is bound to cause other motorists concern, grief and anger I don't buy it for a second that this is the cause of people trying intentionally to hit motorcycles!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have never in my life wanted for anyone (car or bike) to crash no matter how much of an idiot they have behaved like. There's been occassions where I've thought that they should never again be allowed behind a wheel or a set of handlebars - but there is a certain difference between those two attitudes.

It happens that people in road rage gets out of their cars and start an altercation - but it's very rare that the same people actually drive into eachother on purpose.
I think the blame for this disturbing behaviour is more likely grounded in people growing up with less and less appreciation and respect for other beings. Sometimes it can be drug fueled aggression (steroids, P, speed, etc) and some people are just psychopaths regardless...

Unfortunately Mikkel, I have to say you're quite wrong. An imbalanced car driver who has had their wing mirror recently removed by a motorcyclist riding like a clown is the very sort to intentionally swerve toward an overtaking motorcycle or tailgate a motorcycle in an effort to intimidate them. I'm sure most don't plan to actually hit the motorcycle but if they can cause the motorcycle to have an accident and yet not be directly implicated then they will quite happily go down that path.

I have no problem with you disagreeing with me.
However, if you're going to use absolutes like right and wrong, please make sure you chuck in a couple of references to one authority or another that will back your claim. Otherwise you're just voicing your own opinion - and we all know what opinions are like...

Furthermore, I think you should pay more attention to what you're writing. My point was along the lines that a balanced being wouldn't intentionally try to harrass another motorist just because they had been bahving like a dick. There will always be a cause for people being imbalanced (dropped on the head as a kid, drugs, psychological issues, etc.) and if they are indeed imbalanced they shouldn't be allowed to operate a motorvehicle to begin with.
