Thats probably because they're less hung up on asthetics and more interested in the practicality of carting their gear around

And then I thought of all the gear (including bedding and xmas presents) that I am supposed to be taking on the bike over the 'ditch' at xmas and wonder how the hell am I going to do that without a rack?????

Are they removable? I mean can you fit them for a specific trip and then take 'em off when until you need them again????

Hmmm, I'd rather have a pack rack (oopppps I do) than a goldwing.

I know of a few 748/916 riders that have pack racks. On those sorts of bikes if you want to carry gear your choices are limited.

The best part is: the owner/rider is on front of the pack and can't see them -

    - unlike a lot of others who can see them and SEEM to be dictating to the sportsbike owners what they can/cannot do with their bikes!

What do Ya reckon NC30, its like fitting chevron grip tyres to a Rolls just in case of those occassional off road trips fishing? I guess its trying to get a sports bike to fit a dual roll.

pack racks are GHAY???????? and i thought you were such a tolerant type of girl. what is gay - is getting somewhere and not having a spare helmet to take your mates somewhere, cause you couldn't carry it under bungees on the back seat cause it looked STUPID

and matt you're right - i'd rather have a pack rack than a gold wing...

how is fitting a pack rack to a sportsbike like fitting a towbar to a ferrari? a ferrari has room for a passenger and bags. and how else do you get the jet ski down to the boat ramp? there's a 911 turbo with a towbar in cambridge that does just that....

Imagine a three week holiday in the Sth Is with just the clothes on your back.
Whiffy doesn't start to describe it.
But I guess smelling like a rancid skunk isn't gay.

This is the choice I was faced with, I'm going to Napier in a couple of weeks for 5 days.

    I could either:

    1. Take the car up and have ample space for luggage

    or

    2. Fit a pack rack to the bike so I can carry enough gear for the length of the holiday.

Now, why on earth would I want to take the car! The reality is that most of the time the pack rack will be in the garage but it will let me take the bike instead of the car when I need to carry a bit of extra luggage.

I guess it's just as well that I'm not into motorcycling to impress other people, otherwise putting a packrack on a sports bike would be a big no no!
