Sent the photos to the LTSA and they replied

"fuck off Jimbo. You are always sending us dumb shit. Slow the fuck down and you won't spend your days filling out claim forms."

I saw the "red van" today on Western Motorway in the Hutt. Caught it out the side of my eye as I went past (doing 95km/h I might add like the good citizen I am).

I would have thought that location was pretty covert so took a photo on the way back.

Rang the Infringement Bureau who advised that the vehicle must be visible at a 90 degree angle. I take it that means as you are going past. I was also told that they are not allowed to be 'camoflauged'. The pleb on the phone didn't sound too sure of these criteria, but on the face of it the camera I saw today was ok in terms of location.

well i did 370kms today, at an average of 165km/h, and i didn't see a single camera van! i even had time to take some pix of my own!

you'd think people had better things to do with their life than loop fuck knows how far back, just to take some photos of a bright red van parked on the roadside, clearly visible for at least 50m in each direction. if you couldn't see it, you were obviously not looking. here's some advice (in no particular order). buy a radar detector. try scanning the road ahead. try slowing down. try going the scenic route. try hardening up.

taking pictures is much less subtle then shooting out there tyres anyhows - id like to know where speed cameras are lurking, my mates tell me if they no im going that way. Also scrap the radar idea - get a jammer, they work better. Also dont stop (fullstop)

Green van against a green vegatative backdrop and they reckon it's not camouflaged. They should paint them high vis yellow. And put flags on em, and have tied down blimps like in car yards so you can see them from km's away.
