I think most would see the camera and then remember they have no front plate!

yeah how do they get caught if they have no front plate, unless the camera is like pointing backwards.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

Flip up number plate and a brain.

Looks like 38 people forgot at least one of those!!

You obviously dont know me do you? I often ramble for hours without making a point. I have a very sexy voice though.

Oh, of course, they weren't smart or observant enough to see the camera van.
Maybe they were scrubbing off speed. Have you been down the Opiki striaghts. It is like 100 fucking miles of dead striaght, flat road. If you want to blow some cobwebs out or have had a long day and getting home you can easy cruise at excess speed. ok. it is about 5 or 6 km with a couple of sweeping bends in it but I wasnt going to make a point.

Your other point was that the other vehicles that the camera van man caught speeding were 11 cars, 4 trucks and 2 buses. And they didn't cause any accidents either...do you see the trend developing?
huh? Who gives a crap what other vehicles were booked during the afternoon? I was talking to Mr Golfer who I speak to often and he knows my bike and suspects (be it right or wrong) I travel beyond the speed limit and mentioned to me that he got 38 bikes on boxing day.

Oh shit, does that count as making a point?

Yes it is possible to get a speed camera ticket on a bike. Maybe the camera operater is not a complete moron and thought that more bikes would be heading south rather than north on boxing day due to the widely publizied wanga racers and set up the camera to snap bikes on a 5km striaght piece of road heading south? Or maybe he got lucky.

I think camera operaters are getting very good at hising their positions. I have very nearly been caught out a couple of times seeing them ALMOST too late. Only almost though. One of the Manawatu riders got down on Napier/Taupo road by a camera not too long ago without knowing it.

Of course, should you not speed, you will have no concerns anyway

cut it out. I have witnessed Storm speeding. It was in a 50k zone and he made it to 55 and was being towed by a bulldozer but speeding is speeding.

On a side point, I got a letter today telling me that a speeding driver, just like me killed some woman who was training to be a nurse. Everyone should start getting very concerned if there are two of me around.

    How unusual!
Probably hidden behind the fence on the 90 degree corner where the cops love to hide! You can just make out the cars if you're heading south, but they are virtually invisible when heading north. I can't really see where else they could be parked as that road has no shoulder for most of it. Unless they found a friendly farmer who let them park in their driveway. Me, I'd tell them to piss off!

I'm wondering if the original poster meant the Himatangi Straights, which is a far more logical place to have a speed camera on Boxing Day?

That makes more sense, the cops and/or speed camera vans are ALWAYS along there - the only place I've ever got a speeding ticket was there, stung by a mufti cop heading towards me early one Sunday morning.

that is, of course, not to say that there *wasnt* one on himitangi striaghts. Just the guy at the golf club was in one on the opiki striaghts. Maybe they worked out that everyone was heading the back way.
