    Smile All Over the show

Saturday was bright and cheery and the sun shoneth muchly. so it was out witht he bike and up to nelson with some of the lads wot were of a like minded mindey thingy to the mobike rally happening up that ways. ran out of gas 6km b4 springs junction in the lewis pass. im sure my bike should do 220 on a tank not 200 grr. :spudwhat: got to the rally and well i hadn't brought any rally type stuff like a tent or sleepin baggy. bought a nice small tent and some booze (sleeping bags is for wooses). the party did rave on till 3am ish. got up at 6:00 am to a bright cheery overcast. packed up and thought what now :spudwhat: . off to picton to start the trip i was going to do till nelson got in the way. got there early so jumped on an earlier ferry and well that advances the timtable somewhat donnit.
left wellywood about 1:30pm and off to the rimutakas. at the top, met she wot buys lots of ducatii stuff and the hampster ahhh hamish possibly. few other k/b's about too. got talked into going to castlepoint and that was an interesting little jaunt to the side of the island. i went north along the road with grass groing out of it that was mentioned a week or two prior. sorry i didnt stop for a photograph. then it was through palmy nth and onward to wanganui which is where i've called it a night. oh yeah there was a harley out of gas about 20k short of wanganui and i stopped and gave him 600ml of petrol but those things dont suck fuel down so well(carbs are funnee) and he had a mate coming along with more tools et al. i wonder who'll turn up next on this trans islandic extravaganza

i had to come back into russell via the old russell road last night at around 11pm. 65k of windy road with natures speedbumps. little beggars kept running away.

on a die note how do you lot cope wit the agony of riding600km on a nearly daily basis? im starting to fall to pieces now the worst is my right shoulder. :/

Good to hear you're still having fun Artifice.

Your muscles will gradually get used to doing big kms, but perhaps try having a rest day occasionally? When we're on hols touring and often do 600km days, we sometimes take a day out, don't ride the bikes, and you're fresh as a daisy the following day!

Keep us posted. (no news from me, I still have two (and the same) Ducatis, and no more accessories except a Ducati calculator that I bought last week) (well, you have to work your your km/ltr over a coffee with the lads, don't you?)
