I just went for the best ride ever. wanna know why...

because I pumped up my tyres!!!
Ive been meaning to get a tyre pressure gauge for ages now and yesterday finally got one.
I should also point out that I have not checked my tyre pressure(s) since I got the Pirelli’s on about three months ago, stupid I know but hey its honesty time as someone may learn from this.
Any noobs reading this go check you tyres now!
The bike feels so much better now. Turns in quicker / smoother and give so much more feed back.
    Feels like a different bike!

Bloody oath mate. Finally got around to getting a gauge myself just a couple days ago, sure enough, they were a bit low. even the 4-5 psi i put back in them made a HUGE difference to the feel and response on the road.

Incidentally, i had to travel to 4 different petrol stations before i found one with a working air pump, wtf?

Petrol stations are grocery stores now.....services like that arent on the top of the list of things to provide and maintain......2 choc bars for $6 is.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

I put fuel in the tank of my bike the other week - it made a huge difference too!

Check your pressure regularly - do it before you take off, when the tyres are cold.
    Keep it rubber-side down...

All of which will have given you a completely different reading (if they were all working).

Get a pump for home and a decent gauge.

I got a Michelin foot-pump thing (from Repco) for not too many $$$. (Don't remember exactly, but can't have been too much if I bought it).

It came with a built-in pressure gauge, and for bunging a few PSI in the foot pump isn't too much work.
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.

Best 'tune-up' you can give your bike is air in the tyres!

I am told it is also good for blow-up dolls - gives them that O back in their smile

Also pays to have a puncture repair kit on standby, the tiniest prick will pop those things

Yeah, i finally got myself a gauge, which is why i finally went and pumped them up. i dont trust those things as far as i can throw them (not far considering they're bolted to the ground), so wanted to be able to check as soon as i'd pumped em. didnt wanna end up even worse than before!
