    GSXR1300 K8 Hayabusa

I see this beast is coming out "soon"

So.... I am interested in current Busa owners views on the bike, its comfort, durability etc, of course keeping in mind the 08 is a new bike and not just a facelift (according to Suzuki).

It's basically the only GSXR I haven't yet owned and am interested in doing some research into this model of bike.

Well we will be going for the 08 when we get back from south Island trip in january.

I understand the release date has been pushed back to January i suppose thats what you get when you are a small part of the distrabution chain.

I have emailed several U S shops wishing to purchase early but not even an email back a sell is a sell isn't it.
We tryed the 14 but stayed true to the mighty bus.
There are a lot of people that say the arse end is ugly but they said the 99 model was ugly as well just because it's differant still if you are not on one then the arse end is all you will see.

The arse looks like the rear end of a 1954 Morris Oxford, compressed to meet the width requirements of one tyre (albeit 3 times the size of one of the Oxford's skinny radials).

father in law has an 04 busa

and has an 08 busa on order.

The guys in america have only just started getting there 08 busa in the past week. many people who did not like the ass end of the bike from photos say once you see it in person its not as bad as they though, even tho alot of americas are planning on putting the old style tail on the rear[no idea why you want to make your bike look 10 years older than it is], if you look at the ass end tail light it acutally looks simlar to a 04 600/750/1000 head light.

durability - really depends what you mean, motor wise, the lump is same lump that is in the current busa, its been taken from up in cc, and some extra tweaks here and there, but guys get 500 hp fromthe stock lump with out really doing any mods to the basic lump, so its pretty solid all in all.

The buggers say its a new engine.... maybe a wider interpretation of "new" is needed!

my understanding its not a new engine, new top end bottom lump is same, i mean its now bored out in cc wise etc, still be one cranking bike, no matter what what, i mean the 08 pretty much has the same frame as the out going model, why since they designed it so right in the first place, and still cuts the mustard, so keeping with it.

i mean the busa is now 8-9 years old, and still sells in huge numbers, the 08 is just updaing it bit more power, new brakes (it really needed it) and some gay buttons to limit the power, and styling update.

By looks alot of the mods in the new bike are seam to be there when people want to crank out the big numbers hp wise. they will come in to play,

"New", off of the production line?
As opposed to a rebuilt/reconditioned one...

Brings new definition to the word BUS, it looks very heavy in the rear.
And to be honest I think the market deserved a bit more of a change than the last model, it doesnt look that different to me.
it looks like a hurried attempt at winning the most powerful bike in its class back.
    Sorry Suzuki, uninspiring

if anyone orders one, why not wait two months, Im sure suzuki will drop the arse out of the price by then you could save 4k.

and all you slangers of the ZX14 wakey wakey, its a better bike all round end of story

Extremely charitable of you, Good Sir! My comparison would have been with a 1992 Hindustan Ambassador.

Maybe we like riding a bus? I currently ride a bike that has all the handling of an aircraft-carrier.

    ZX14 is always an option

That is one UGLY bus. I was expecting a fair bit more...ZX14 is still a helluva lot nicer.
