I was going fucking slow cause it's a bitch of a corner and Hyosungs are not the worlds best bike for getting deep with. I'm guessing from where I lost it - it was probably as I just started to pour on the power heading out... Maybe too much gas on the way out, with some gravel, and a greasy tyre edge? Someone said there are probably 1001 reasons... I agree. Still feels a bit useless not to know why but I guess sometimes shit happens.

I'm taking Evey in to the guys at Red Baron for an apprasial now - I'll let them give me a quote and if I can do the work cheaper myself I wont get the insurance company involved. Excess is $1,700 FUCKME! Plus the no-claims bonus.

    Oh well... could be worse.

yeah dude ive had similar things happen.

    sometime in november..

fired up the bike....first thing in the morning and off to my parents place before work.

out of the driveway up the street.....turned right.....right again...all is going well.

came to a rounabout...i peeled off to the left of it so did not need the roundabout.....round the bend i though well i will hang off so i don't have to lean the cold tyres over as far.

so i hung off....leant it over.....

hmmm i'm knee down....i cant be that far over on cold tyres ahhh crap.

next thing i'm on my arse.

didn't even feel the rear start to go complete dry...cold tyres....slipped out bloodey fast.

at the end of the day shit happens.

but at the time all i could say was fuck.

as my bike slid away with tail section and indicators etc going in every direction.

and me having slid on my arse. now running after my bike...which is still sliding.

usually i never wore my one piece to work just jeans and a light jacket.

for some reason that morning i was like screw it and put on my one piece....

up i hopped and away i went....the look on car drivers faces was quite funny though having just seen a bike slide past 6 rowed up cars stopping half a metre from a roundabout.

    cold tyres = evil lol

ok i'm done babbling meh meh fooking neow

I live up by Arataki on Scenic Drive and commute into the city. The section from Arataki to the village has been responsible for many many offs by bikes, cars and pushies alike. Recently there was a new car off the steep drop jammed into the trees on a weekly basis - lol. The corners are tight, many negative camber, loose metal, moss, oil and for some strange reason every mother fucker cuts on the blind corners. I slide the back end of my k31000 at least once a month - gives me the shits every time. Take it really easy on this stretch of road.
