Anyone else out there got a classic?

How about we show all our classics at the Kaiaua shark and shavings shop?
can people who like classics come along as well... (92 cbr 250 is like almost classic now isnt it)
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot
You wouldn't enjoy it . Too slow.
But, it's an interesting question. What *does* define a 'classic'.
Is it simply age? In which case , how many years old does it need to be ?
Or style, or design ? In which case is a new Renfield a classic , because only an anorak could state the differences between a 2008 model and a 1958 model.
I think my Titans and kettles are classics. But is my RZ350 ? Same sort of bike, just 10 years younger. But if it is , is a 2005 Aprilia RS250 a classic. Same sort of bike.
Is a Kawasaki W650 a classic? It's certainly the same character of bike as a unit Bonnie, which presumably is ? What about a Triumph (Hinckley) Thruxton ?
A Goldie is certainly a clasic. What about a Yamaha SR500 ? Or a new XTX600 ? They're all road going sporting big singles.
Is it just oil leaks ? Which would rule out the Honda CBnnn . I've heard people say that the SOHC Honda CB750 is a classic , but the DOHC isn't. Which seems a narrow dstinction.

I think age has got the most to do with it. Old bikes are funny things; one particular bike might have been shunned and considered complete shit when it was released (and for a decade or so after), but give it 40 years to age and suddenly it's a `classic' and you can show it off or sell it for silly money. Superdreams look to be heading that way, as with CX500s. Just wait a couple more decades.
my shitta is a 87,in car terms shes a classic..........![]()
i reckon what defines a 'Classic' is just a matter of opinion.
somethings generally classic if its rare, particularly cool or strange, was really popular or perhaps really bad when it first came out... doesnt have to be old either, i think the '03 cbr600rr is a modern classic cause when it first came out it was so much more focussed than anything else in its class and set a benchmark for things to come... but im sure many will disagree.
i think nat indended this ride as an opportunity for ppl to get out on the bikes that often dont get shown off as much as they should. im gonna come along with my camera to get good look. ill be equally happy having a perv at xerxesdaphat's cb250rs as i will a 1940s BSA, or even a honda c50 scooter.
i cant wait
my other toy has tits
91 katana be ok?
BTW i think i classic bike is a bike that people see and say 'i had one of those'. A bland pice of crap people will not remember.
ooooooooo the 650 should be going by then![]()
bump?.........![]()
Hmm, have to see if i can get the RG500 running under it's own power by then.
There is also the issue of petrol for the thirsty beast.

I'm into 'slow' and while my bike's 24 years old now, it doesn't ooze 'Classic' (my last bike was a CX500 though) .... I may be up to a slow trip around the loop and ogling some (quote DMTD) Real Bikes.
