Brake lines?

Hi there,

i \'ve just imported my motorcycle and popped in for a warrant yesterday.

The guy had a quick look and sayed that my rear brakeline is not approved.

It is an bolt type one. I tought it was just an original one but probably not.
I used the search and found some topics about this stupid thing.

Anyway, i need an new brakeline.

Back home, we have Goodridge. But i can't find these ones overhere.

Does anyone have a tip for a shop where i can buy these things online?

It's for a guzzi, quiet a rare model, so it'll probalby have to be specially made.

It is about 71 cm's long and the banjos are just M10.

So why was brakeline not approved?..That WOF place should be able to point you in the right direction. I had a braided front brake line made to fit/size at Cycletreads in ChCh.....Not sure about Blenheim, but Wellington or Christchurch should be able to help you...Let your fingers do the walking.(Yellow pages) and ring a place or 2... Couriers deliver overnight for a small fee....

You can get compliant brakelines close to that length from any bike shop that deals with Eurobike wholesale (which should be most retail shops)
Should be less than 80-90 notes each, just "bolt on" and away you go.

edit: (after bolting on, you'll have to put new fluid in and bleed the brakes too!)

You'd think that but the ones around here get a bit jumpy about "making up" lines, something about liability or some trivial thing like that.

Making up brake lines with crimped ends should be part of what a brake shop does?

Hmmm...
Wrap insulation tape around the bolts and heatshrink over them.
Can't see the bolts anymore.
