The Mercer Street bike parks are closed today, and when I walked past the wardens had tow trucks arriving to haul away everyone who hadn't noticed the no parking signs. If you park there, you might want to run down and shift before they haul it.

Look, it's an itsy bitsy Bandit.
Well lucky my motorbike has broken down! Otherwise I would have been parked there!

I just watch 2 'persons of low breeding' in some sort of rent a cop uniform doing over all the bikes / scooters parked beside the vertical bungy thing. The bikes were all legally parked but these C**ts were checking wof and rego and writing tickets.
They were trying to look uder seats and not being too damn careful.
Just another reason why WCC can get stuffed. We will spend our money in towns that welcome us.

Not sure yet - being not very mechanically minded I am waiting to hear back from the mechanics.Originally Posted by Blakamin
Basically I was riding down Boulcott St and it lost all power, and then became really noise (like there was a BIG hole in the pipes) and then stopped.
I am so glad I'm a member of Honda Riders Club - they've arranged tows for me twice now & 1 AA call out. Well worth the $30- I paid!

Well better here than remote part of SI I guess. Pity I don't still have the RG50 roadbike I could have lent you that to scoot around on.

I've just spoken to Jaz (she works just above Mercer St car park). She said that they weren't moving the bikes but just ticketing them! Jaz said that the signage was minimal & there were no cones. Apparently it was to do with bomb scares.Originally Posted by Paul in NZ

Could have been to do with the returned soldier thing? Did anyone go check that out, it looked pretty big - I was sitting in the Uni library and I could see the parade and the people and the stopped traffic and the big screens at the war memorial.Originally Posted by Celtic_Sea_lily

Bloody stupid affair. I appreciate like crazy the sacrifices mades but I'm bloody suspicious of the Labour Govt organising this.. Seems a bit of a diversion to the adoring masses..
Dunno. All a bit odd and I can't quite figure out how I feel about it?

It does feel weird aye, and I most certainly know what you mean about Labour. Kinda strange how after all this time and of all the dead soldiers they pick this unknown one and bring him back today with a huge military parade.Originally Posted by Paul in NZ
