    Aftermarket mufflers for ZXR250c?

    Hey Guys,

I recently purchased a 1993 Kawasaki ZXR250c. It's a great bike, but I am wondering if anyone in NZ makes, or can get some sort of aftermarket exhaust/mufflers for them?

I have searched high and low on the net, have found soe in Aussie at pretty horrid prices, thought maybe someone might know if anyone does them in NZ?

    Thanks

    Rory

Neptune mufflers in wellington make all sorts of cans, give them a call.

I run a Kawasaki ZX9R race can on mine.

    came off a crashed bike...

    sounds bloodey sexy.

try the wreckers...i am unsure on the stud spacing....

to fit the zx9r can i had the drill the existing header holes bigger.

alternatively any engineering shop can gut it out for you. i once got a place to cut my stock one open and gut everything out of it.

it sounded great but i had problems with lack of back pressure.

so see if they can cut it open and put in some perforated tube.

i do have a kevlar one somewhere....but the end has broken off and i was in the middle of shortening it a bit (the end was mounted into the kevlar with pop rivets...too many stoppies and it ripped them from the kevlar)

if you are going to so nose wheelies/ stoppies on it....do not go for kevlar or carbon fibre.

i have to fix mine up beforei can get another wof because the zx9r can isnt certified.

mind you it's just knowing where to go for wof's lol

well my zxr is blown up at the moment wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Unfortunately it seems Neptune no longer do mufflers.

    ARROWS.
Thats what I have on mine and the 250 is verry similar to the 400.
sounds horny at idle with those lumpy as cams burping away and absolutly screams when working up in the 'sweet spot' above 10 grand.....do the airbox at the same time.....makes a huge difference.

I will ring cycleworks tomorrow, they look promising. The best i've found so far is one of these:

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....MEWA:IT&ih=020

I emailed the seller who seemed pretty decent. Said it'd be $30AUD to send to Wellington, so basically $405 delivered to my door, and it's 'bolt on' as well.

Almost any pipe can be modified to fit. Find one you like (preferably for a bike no bigger than a 600) and get it modified. You may want to get the exhaust slightly restricted to help maintain your engines mid-range though.

Why bother? The stock can is fine until you get a bigger bike...

Talk to the www.bikestore.co.nz boys, they do a smallish carbon muffler that can be fitted by anyone with a little bit of know how. We put one on my workmates cbr250 and it's pretty sweet.

You'll get them in arrow and cans which can fit ZXR400 should be fine with a few mods. Don't forget to get it rejetted properly. Try Roger at Action Wreckers. And Jason at Motostyle, both in Aucks. Good luck.
