    Yeah, Gudday (kiwibryn)

Older rider, back on 2 wheels at the beginning of 2007 after 16 years riding cages. Wheels are 1983 Honda CX400C, as far as I can tell 80,000 original kms to date.

Whee, another maggot. When the nuclear holecaust finally comes, all life on earth will be wiped out, except for a cockroach riding a maggot across the radioactive desert !

Welcome! I had a CX400 too, it was my first more-than-250cc bike.
Greybeards would always stop and say "Oh, a CX, I had one of those about 20 years ago".
Keep an eye on the CX thread here http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=27643

Well, this piece of advice... DON'T ride in the rain for a few weeks if you can avoid it, at least until you know you have you reaction times sorted... and the modern boy-racers get REALLY anal these days... let 'em past to have their own accidents...

The only niggle I have is that rear tyres don't seem to last... I only got 14,000 km out of my last one (Challenger by some chink firm I never heard of), so this time round, I have gone for Dunlop. Hopefully I can push that a bit further.... Front tyre? well it is a Cheng Shin 4ply Nylon (with inner tube) and doesn't seem to be too desparately in need of replacement, warrantable tread and no cracks... should I be worried?
