    Thumbs up

Well, for my pennys worth, fingerless gloves don't merit the time to put them on. Worn a pair for years cruising in the states and noticed the brown skin on back of hands and back of wrists more and more resembling the inside of dads old tobacco pouch. A month home and several large dry crusty looking lumps appeared in said places. So being a good kiwi and obiediant to the advertising on TV warning all and sundry of the perils of skin cancer rode off to a friendly skin doctor who proceeded to burn these ugly additions away with liquid O.
Have worn perforated gloves since which fasten round the wrist, cause when you really think about it if you arse off your natural reaction is to throw your hands out in front of you ensuring your fingers have a good grubbing along the asphalt.
Not that fussed about half helmets either after seeing my very attractive friend Debbie's fullface ground away down to almost her soft skin in the chin and jaw area. She wouldn;t be smiling now if she had been wearing a open face.
Actually on a hot day,a full face with the visor down is cooler than a open face.
Did notice at HOG rally several riders not overcome by the dictate to wear black and were wearing HI visibility vests.Bet they were more experienced riders and weren;t worried about looking cool .Cheers ratast

Ya just slagged off my favourite riding apparel - and make a good point.

But it's all about choice and risk assesment.

And I have annoyingly bright running-lights on my Dyna T-Sport and CBs 1200 Sporty to increase visibilty to other road users.
