Hopefully, they will send the scooters and smaller machines off first. That works well

The thing is, if the leaders are doing 100kph, the bikes at the rear of such a large group have to do at least 140 to keep up. It's an odd dynamic of large groups of riders. The elastic band effect.

Previous years most folks from west, shore, north etc met at a gas station (name and place eludes my brain) out this way before heading down.

But yes, most people met up at Papakura Autobahn then went on to Karaka.

Kept most of the KB'ers together during the ride.

Perfect op to wear your KB shirt

I see in Februarys issue of Kiwirider on page 12 in one column advertising the Rescue ride it says it is on Saturday 23rd Feb and in another column it is Sunday 23rd Feb.

Not the best way to advertise a charity ride !!

Hey guys I'll try make it, it's a while off though huh! I live in Karaka just 10mins from there so it's a good start but a terrible finish!!!

Karaka Bloodstock is off the motorway at Papakura exit turn left (coming from North) and is just over the bridge about 50m on the left.

The last fundraiser that left from BMW Headquaters very recently....... they let the scooters go first..... and then we all managed to pass some of them them all riding higelty pigelty all over the motorway and up over the harbour bridge...

On a previous fundraiser to that..... the scooters were put in the front and caused a huge havoc all over the motorway..... the riders of these said scooters have no idea on how to do stagger formation and how to even ride them in a group.
Heck one rider was riding there scooter and had no idea that they even had a flat tyre.....

Shove them at the back out of trouble...

The trouble is that because of the rubber band effect the bikes at the back have to go faster than the ones at the front. And the scooters can't.

So they stretch way back, and form a long straggley tail. Which irks the cops no end. With big bikes at the back they can signal us to get a move on and close up. Can't with scooters.
