absolutely... but my first lemmings experiences were on an Amiga. A truly superior computer in its time![]()
The "racer boy" thing is pharkin annoying sometimes. Like the other day, I came up behind a VFR800 rider who must live somewhere near me, and everytime I got near him, to try and find out who he was / where he lived, he took off through the traffic.![]()
However, on Tuesday (first ride of the VFR to work), a guy (PC800) who always passed me when I was on the VTR actually pulled up beside me and said hello, then rode with me most of the way. Maybe he didn't feel tempted to race something as slow as a LuxoSport? Maybe the VFR didn't incite him to prove he was riding a real bike? Maybe he liked the snarl of the Staintune?
Who knows... :spudwhat:
And yesterday, an SV1000 pilot thought I was going too slow down the transit lane, and passed me. I thought, "Yeah - that's a really good idea going faster than the speed limit in heavy, stopped traffic, when people are always turning across this lane!", and just carried on at a safe pace, slowing at intersections (can't see people turning until you're right in the intersection), unlike SV Boy.![]()
The best experience was when we went to Tauranga two weekends ago, and came up behind two bikes who ended up travelling at exactly the speed I was comfy with, and ended up going in the same direction. When we stopped, we were all going the same place, for the same reasons, and even stopped for a pow-wow about the weather. I like that sort of synchronicity.![]()
... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....![]()

The prestigious lemming run
Dodgy yes there are badges (well up until the last few years when we got too slack to mint them) so I’m afraid you’ll have to attend next year & see what happens.
Check out the history & badges, or the pics/video clips
ahem.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
It's a funny ol thing but I can identify with it to an extent. Being young (well I was until last week!), moderately stupid and lucky enough to be riding something with plenty of poke (for most situations) I'll readily admit to being keen to not get left behind. Ego is quite possibly the factor here but I'm also happy to say that I like to see guys doing stuff outside my self set limits - it makes me safe in the knowledge that I'm not the craziest SOB out there!
Q: Am I still a lemming if I like to be quicker through the cages than another biker but I'm still within my limits and not pushing harder than my brain can keep up with? Surely a true lemming keeps trying no matter what where a more intelligent rodent might know when its beaten and back off?
and surely it's not lemming behaviour to use the "bike in front gets a ticket" train of logic?
yeh man - the funny thing is, if you gave ya bike a little throttle at the lights, its all onOriginally Posted by Jackrat

Was a while ago now.
Was sitting at the lights at Te Rapa with a mate,he was on his GT 550,I was on my GT750.Four other bikes pulled up,Z900,CB900,GT250,RD350.
Six bikes,Te Rapa straight,Friday night, there was only ever going to be one result. It was the best drag I've ever had. When we turned around an came back down the straight there was still blue smoke hanging in the air.
There wasn't a Lemming to be seen anywere.
This is the sort of nonsense quoted by people to stupid to operate a motorcycle.Originally Posted by Teflon
Obviously your lack of ability is due to the limited to the small size of your brain. Sell your bike before you die and make the biker stats look worse, which increases insurance and ACC levys for the rest of us.
Trip, trop, trip, trop, on my bridge, who's that walking on my bridge. Why it's you little Billy Goat, HO,HO,HO Im going to eat you up.

Aaah, welcome back bondagebunny - that phrase has been parroted around a bit much for my liking too.
