Stuck in gear?

hi a mate owns a 1996 sporty and she stuck in 5th gear can't move it out .any ideas before he pulls it to bits??

The gear selector arm is probably cracked or broken.
He's going to have to pull the gear cluster out, he will then need to look through to the right side of the box and he will see the arm.
It's a double sided affair that is activated by the selector pall.
If it's a 4 speed and it hasn't shit it's self yet,it's just a matter of time so either have him get all the gear dogs undercut or replace the lot with Andrews gears.
The 96 box is a piece of crap,but he's going to find that out anyway because once they start to give trouble,,,,their rooted.
The Andrews fix is expensive but it's cheaper in the long run.
