"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."
Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.

I was just scouting accom for your next visit.
Damn, dude ya gotta make the capital coast ride aye![]()
Stop rubbing it in! Two of the better rides will be taking place while I am away overseas - off to India and Nepal for a month looking for a new wife (NO only kidding about the wife ha ha).
I will be flying over the top of you boys when I leave NP, so light a big bonfire outside and I will flush the toilet as I go over!
Have to put our thinking caps on for maybe a queens birthday ride somewhere?
OK, I'm in.
Will bring the tent etc.
Suggestion - I live about 10 seconds off the motorway in Papakura, so if the Ork contingent wants to assemble at Chez Bass, we could have a coffee (my good lady has this magic machine) and work out appropriate routes for all comers
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

Righto then.
I hate to admit it but, we probably should drag Crisis Mismanagement into this as well cos he's got the maps and he's done this territory before. (That's not to say that he can read the maps however, so your Zumo might come in handy once he's given us the road names) Besides, unfortunately he knows where I live.

Man, are you in the shit now, I'll be there at 6 for a moccachino and cooked breakfast.
Sounds like a great idea Bass, I have a couple of concerns regarding bikes/ skill levels and suggest we keep it simple for the ride to Raglan pretty much following the coast road and taking our time. My thinking (thats definately a new concept) has been from Pokeno, the sealed road for some (xerses?) too Port Waikato and an option via Onewhero and Klondyke road for more gravelly riders.
Following that, it really has to be follow the coast to the north head of Raglan harbour (all hard packed, good roads) and then loop back around the harbour to Raglan.
This will take 3 to 4 hours allowing for stops and general hilarity and is a reasonable pace.
I would suggest we take the oppotunity to take a few detours if we need to but I would rather decide that after we have ridden an hour or so and everyone feels comfortable (on a DR seat?????).
There you go, a typically loose but manageable plan.
Let me know your thoughts, maybe only some of them in certain cases....
Important notice!
I can only come for the saturday, so won't be staying overnight but will head back at 6ish, apologies, grovelling etc but my wife needs me.
I'm saturday only too,I might do a trial on the sunday if I'm up to it.Sounds loose enough to me Ian.....Doing Klondyke is a must, but a pretty harsh intro to gravel. The views up there are fantastic.
