    Are we lemmings?

whats a leming? well I might not have spelt it correctly? maybe two "m"s not sure but anyway a creature that is stupid, it follows (is that spelt correctly?)
ignor my spelling please. anyway I have been a Biker for a long time and have noticed that we get more stupid in the presence of ourselfs?(ourselves)
What the F**K is Red on about? I here you think.
Well we all have a competitive nature, that our instinct so when we encounter another rider some, most of us change our nature into a competitive mode a monster. And the indirect race is on! we want to check out the "cc" the rider the competition its natural and its ego in action. Who can honestly say they want to be wasted by a scooter? everyone has a limit.
I have finally matured into a true safeman I don't care anymore I will not dice with death anymore I am at peace. how to spot a dicer simple really when they see you in their mirror they get all excited darting from mirror to mirror and naturally looking for the better line or lane. The race is on or not if you dice with the dicer you are either a shamed or dead. but if you ride to your true ability rather than beyond it maybe you will live and the dicer will slow down too in a sense of false victory. I had a commute today with a GXR1100 and we sailed to work in unison and without flustered competition it was a spirtule experience and safe. He / she could have done the fidget mambo shit but not. I have entered the third Dimention. first equals no skill two equals all skill and no fear and third equals skill and fear (survival) I will not die on my bike I will die of prostrate cancer.umm the bike death sounds better

    I must admit...

Red, you're right. I still get all fidgety when a subaru pulls up next to me, with the speakers going doof doof doof, and the blow off valve going ppsshht. I can't help it, my pulse rises and I can't wait for the lights to go green, so I can show subaru fellah the color of my led tail lights...
Bikes? A little bit, but not so much, unless I can see the other rider getting fidgety. Only prob is, on bikes you're exceeding the speed limit in a couple of seconds, and I do have limits to how fast I'll go on the road.

Hopefully oneday I'll grow out of it.

Oh, when you get prostate cancer (err, not a thing to be joking about), come to us, we do the only brachytherapy seed implants in the Wellington region, hell maybe in NZ, I'm not sure.

Is it called riding your own ride? If I catch up to someone, I'm, ipso facto, travelling faster, so I will probably check out the bike, then pass and carry on at my own speed. Is this dicing. Not in my book. However, if the rider Ive just passed tries to keep up, or similar, is (s)he the lemming?
Personally, I dont give a fuck about dicing with other riders. It is good to follow along with someone through traffic occasionally, however.

Have to agree with you. Nearly crashed every single bike i've owned (accept the VFR400) through pushing the limits. I've walked away from all of them, including Rear ending a car at about 100k, wrote my NSR off.
2yrs ago nearly went over a cliff (lucky for a fence) on the VTR, that was on the Raglan divi.

So i'm not pushing my luck any more.

I come across the same few riders each day,on the way to or from work.
Most of them are just doing the go to work thing, an also arn't to threated by
an SX650.But,there is one guy who rides a late model black Triumph triple, always takes off real hard if he spots me coming up behind him.
I see him on Glen Brook rd, hope I don't see him in the ditch one day.
Still, nice to know somebody is threated by the SX.
    That'll do me

It's interesting that group rides are more likely to kill you. The most likely cause is cornering on a bend but the LTSA don't say if you were alone or grouped? it's an important Crash statistic I suggest only that it would be as part of a group ride. Where a Underskilled rider is drawn into a competitive environment they were not prepared for? I feel so much safer on my own where I dictate my own limits. My brother lost it one time chasing a skilled rider he had a Yamaha RD250 and I had a 750 Triumph tiger and the lead was a 125XLhonda trail bike but the 125 rider (spud cause his ears stuck out) was a skilled and competent rider on back roads. it was Lemming world and my brother survived but only just. I scraped him off the road. It wasn't Spuds fault.

    Implants

Brachytherapy is the implanting of radio active seeds around the prostate area. This is a rather interesting procedure. You have an ultrasound probe up your, err, bum, so the surgeons can see where they're putting the needles (with the seads loaded in them). The needles are stuck though the perineum, using an expensive positioning "stepper" and grid for placement, and the seeds pushed through the needles, and left a couple of inches deep. The seeds then release radiation over a period of time, hopefully getting rid of the cancer. Failing that, you're in for a Radical Prostatectomy, the removal of your prostate.

No wonder your stone chucker! I'm not keen on any seeds going up my bum Nigel!

Crashing doesn't mean your under skilled, think it's more bad luck in most cases.

It's not "if" your going to crash, it's when and where and how bad. Just have to accept it, if you can't you shouldn't be on a motorcycle.
