On a naked bike you might get wetter than on a faired bike. I'd guess that on a faired bike, you can hide down behind the fairing a bit, and the rain would get directed back over you to a larger extent. But on a naked bike, the wind and rain hits your body smack on and all gets funnelled down into your pants, as witnessed by my brother whose pants are waterproof enough on his faired zzr250, but leaked when he rode my zeal.

My bike's just like a big motocross bike, good fun, and a little fairing just for looks.

Do you think the Zeal is worse in this regard than other naked bikes?

I haven't ridden many other "nekkids" in the rain, so can't judge.

Remember that Eta nuts ad from a "few" years ago when they launched the dry-roasted peanut (carbon-dates self immediately): "The drinks may be wet, but I like my nuts dry!"

One can get some nice Givi screens for nekkid bikes to give some protection on those inclement days.

The RF900 is my first fully-faired bike and I've got to admit I like the protection it offers from the wind. I bought it with the idea of doing some touring so it suits that role well. However, I wouldn't mind having a naked bike sitting the the gargre too, probably a twin of some sort. I keep pointing out the Thruxton to my better half for example!

I do know my hands were forzen...was about 5 degrees that day... and my nads didnt like stopping for a leak
