Countdown and a Motorbike?

Supermarket shopping on your bike. How many people use their bike to do their food shopping each week/fortnight whatever?

Past month or so I have been packing the mighty ZX with tank bags and backpacks.. with the overflow bags on the mirrors.

Get a few odd looks but does not bother me, I am more concerned with how all of you get around another one of life's 'chores'.

...and that is just shopping day. You should see me try and ride along on laundry day... feel like santa on a bike... gah...

I don't use the motorbike every time I shop, sometimes I use the pushbike instead

If I don't need heavy stuff like beer, I'll often take the motorbike. The motorbike park is right outside the door, so it would be silly not to. And since I'm limited to the size of my panniers, I don't end up buying lots of crap that wasn't on the list.

But a washing machine Dan ... its so much more practical! .... We use the bikes for shopping when we have to pick up odds and ends .. but never for a full shop ... we just get too much!

I used to use my Nifty 50 to go and get KFC, was a tad tricky riding with one hand trying not to spill my drink!!

Yes, VIP parking at the supermarket is certainly handy!

I always stand next to my bike with all the shopping in the trolley next to me while I have a smoke.

...you can just tell that people walking/driving past are going "how the smeg is he going to get that all home!"

Nope, my place does not have a place for a washing machine - nor do I own one.

bathtub comes in handy for that, but take large items to launderette.

I do some shopping from time to time on the bike. Easy parking and I can fit a reasonable amount in the trusty (Oxford?) expander bag.

You know most of them have online shopping now. courier delivers it.

I only buy what can fit in my backpack.

I used to get a weeks shopping no worries on the bike.
Now I have "the gannets" Ive given up

Yep, but they need a credit card.. or at least a bank account. I dont have or want either.

Hmmm,
I don't use the bike much for shopping, The Scooter on the other hand I use to carry all sorts of things.

My personal best so far is transporting a full sized electric pedestal fan, I got a few funny looks and had to lock the oscillate function mid ride as the fan was making that lovely clicking sound.

Hmmm that reminds me..... I must pop back into my local and chat with the manager.... before xmas she said to came back in the new year and that she would get a 'BIKE PARK' out front for all us riders.... cool huh.

I always doing my grocery shopping on my bike..... they love to watch me pack so much into the backpack..... Lou paper tied on the pillion seat and sometimes have the bread hanging off the backpack in the bags provided by them.

Its the look of shock from the car drivers on the road that gets me
