Things I learned in the hols

    In no particular order:

    1. The good thing about commuting on your bike every day is that you're not too worried if you can't get out in the weekend

    2. It's worth your while tinkering with any suspension adjustments you have. It's only preload on the SV, but it suits me better with a bit less front and rear

    3. Don't take a sports bike on the J'ville, Makara, Karori loop. It's no fun. (It used to be great when I was a student riding my TS185)

    4. I polished my bike more than I rode it. Something to do with painting the house

    5. The SV seat is like a plank

    6. I need to do a lot more sit ups

    7. I still like to look at myself in the shop windows when I'm riding (no vanity you understand, just checking for possible chain wear issues) - the SV is still a good looking bike

    8. I need to get out more

    Learning over the holidays

    1. NZ is the most amazing place I have ever visited.

    2. No way can I go more than a couple of hours on the back of a CBR600 RR without wanting a new arse and knees.

    3. Having your footpeg flip in whilst wizzing round Pukekohe at a pretty reasonable pace on the back of a CBR600 RR is never good!!!

    4. Bosch was right NZ does have the most amazing roads ever!!

    5. KB bikers are mint.

    6. I must sell my soul for a new bike.

We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have you found? The same old fears.

Ok, I'll play too (if you don't mind Pwalo) ...

    1. Riding to a test day (on test day morning), then sleeping on the pit floor drunk that night, doing some of the race day the next day and then riding home again means that you will be very sore by about...say Hunterville (from Taupo).

    2. If you do two laps of Taupo (short circuit) seemingly without changing gears you'll never be a racer (still qualified mid-grid though).

    3. Commuting to work is awesome (Pwalo), esp on a dirty V-twin.

    4. Its not cool getting one of your pays early... esp in time for buying Xmas presents.

    5. Spent more time painting my bike than riding it. Something to do with getting paid early.

    6. The Aprilia rocks for long distance and short distance!

Yeah, I put my ZXR750 through there a couple of months back. It was dire, especially the unsealed bits.

Oh, and, "yay TS185s!" Bang for buck, probably the best bike I've ever owned.

    things I lernt

1.) dont test ride a new bike unless you are sure you are going to buy a new bike - as soon as you jump back on your old bike it will feel broken.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

    1. Dont holiday with buellbebe's mother.
    2. Even a quick hour ride in the sun can make even a crap day a much better one
    3. Having 1 person too many for a single car trip allows a lot of riding (we have rellies staying)

It sounds like you’ve learned nothing, go back and do it again and again until you get it right!

I've learned that on a narrow, winding, slightly undulating farm track I'd prefer to be riding a trail bike or possibly a supermoto (if my feet could reach terra firma).

It does make you admire the riders who do the Irish Road Races though.

What undulations? I know you have to go up and down the hill at either end but are you suggesting that road is bumpy?

Oops that right, my last ride through there was on the B-King, you only feel half the bumps wehn you ride one of those
