    Gale force winds in Welly

    Hi Guys,

Just a heads up, the wind here in Wellington is pretty bad so if you
have your bike in town it might pay to check it hasn't been blown over.
I only mention this as I'm down at the Port and two bikes in the carpark have already hit the pavement, ride safe.

    Cheers
    O1

    Yep.

Just came home over Paekok and Plimmerton. That was fun. Also much tree-blown slippery crap on apex of road (near lookout).

I rode in this morning; then took it home at lunch and got blown round a fair bit. Brought the cage back.
There are scooters strewn about Waring Taylor street thaat have been blown over. Yep shes pretty windy out there alright! Im gonna take my 2 metre power kite out when I get home for a bit of fun and make most of the conditions! The dogs love to chase it so they will get a good run.

    ZOMGLOL, it's windy in Wellington.

In other shocking news, a BMW tourer recently made it to the local dairy without requiring a top-end engine rebuild.

Now that I live back in Dunedin, I remember just what terrible weather Wellington has.
It didn't seem bad while I was living there but now my memory has magnified it. Don't miss it at all, frankly!

Ok .. so I took the bike today ... I did not regret it as I got to come home early (hehe) ... left work at 3.30 so that I would not be stuck with traffic in the wind .. good choice ... I ended up going old hutt road then up gorge and off at j'vilel back roads through to porirua then motorway to plimmerton and then home ... lots of fun and yes very windy but the back roads were a great choice for today!!

That, Maffoo, is naught but a gentle breeze.

It's not actually "Wellington wind"... it's the remains of Cyclone Funa making it's way south...
