Read all the info, Thanks...Replaced spoke, put in new bearings, got a heavy duty tube and put tyre back on the lawn with the tools that I carry on the bike....
Dishwashing liquid did the job for me, and I need a rubber hammer to put the last bit of tyre back on...That way you don't pinch anything! Worked a treat...Just need a better pump to carry with me now......![]()
Opinions are like arseholes: Everybody has got one, but that doesn't mean you got to air it in public all the time....
Well done Peter - another 'true' adventure. Having now equipped myself with enough puncture repair junk to open a small garage, I have and will not have a puncture!
Some points:-
1) before installing a new tube, check the nut - the one that clamps and seals the valve stem to the tube. They are often quite loose and I have had one leak intermittently after installation - very pissoffiing.
2) Throw away the second valve stem nut.
3) Don't put latex or other shit into the tube - I posted some pics here of what it looks like after a while.
4) Throw away the hashtray.
