Regrouped at Featherston and went down teh western side of the lake. Karl on the Darmah had a bit of a problem - a duck flew into his path, directly in line with his headlight - score ended up being one dead duck and one dead headlight. Apart from that a good ride to M/borough, coffees and food all round. VTWIN arrived minus bike. Matthewt had to shoot off back home.
Yeah yesterday morning was great for a ride up the Rimutakas.
I was going well up the hill until I came around a corner and there was Matthew coming the other way giving me the "slow the hell down" signal. Thanks Matthew.
About four or five corners after I was wondering what the hell he was going on about and started to speed up again, and there's another biker coming towards me giving me the "slow down NOW" signal.
Good thing, as there was a broken down bus on the side of the road and a policewoman standing in the middle of the road.
So I was a little out of my groove after that and just as I was starting to push on, I was overtaken by a nice blue Firestorm.
That was just the motivation I ndeeded - off after him and for the first time on the 'takas I got the front wheel in the air out of a corner - you little ripper!
A great day for a ride, and I got home befolre the weather packed in.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
