    Bike freight experiences?

I'm looking at moving a bike out of dunedin to either my home in chch or to where i am currently living in Wellington. I have sent a way for a few quotes from captain transporter and courier connect and was wondering if any other KB's have dealt with these two companies before? And if so, what were they like?

    cheers

If you need a rider, I'd be happy to ride it up. I'm in Dunedin and at a loose end for the next few weeks.

That would be handy... Remember to bring your dice!

Try a site called www.freightbid.co.nz list your bike and the freight companies get back to you with a price and you can pick the best one. I got a scooter for my daughter from Dunedin to chch for $160

Cyclemove or bike trans are specialist bike movers. I used cyclemove to get a bike form Blenhiem to tauranga $300, might only be $200 to wellington?

I used Cyclemove when I bought my M109.

Had it shipped from Whangarei to Oamaru for (i think) round $450 which included full insurance.

Service was excellent. Personally I would rather use a dedicated cycle moving outfit rather than a run of the mill carrier.

Be more fun to ride it though!

I agree here! They will take better care of your bike and are used to handling them every day, some of the mainstream truckies can be pretty careless with their goods!
