But what really outraged me was when - get this - he waved.

    How dare he.
Are you sure it WAS a Harley ???

    Sure it was a Harley

Dave was lucky, the two HD riders I saw yesterday when leaving a traffic light looked at me with a clear superior intention not to wave back. Must have been the Jap cruiser I ride, they surely recognised it by the (lack of) noise.

Mind you, they might also have been wondering was I was doing all over my lane in first gear one hand waving and the other one trying to save the bike. Damn I'm stupid some times...

I'll forgive the bike but the singlet had better have been black.

I'm just in the process of reading Peter Egan's "Leanings".

He describes visiting NZ as part of a bike tour group. He says they were almost unfailingly met with the sort of response most of us would hope for.

The one exception was whan they stopped at a place frequented by 1%er Harley riders. He reported that they had presumably seen one too many biker movies and refused to acknowledge any greeting. "Life imitates artlessness"

Was it the official KBer wave??

Uh oh...we don't have one do we?
Hey, I've got a great idea!!!
Why don't we get our heads together and come up with a wave that we can use to recognise each other on the road???

    Good idea.

    We need to be distinctive.

    How about a no-hands, no-legs Star-wave x 4 ?

Letting go completely and falling off could be a "wave" that some associate with KB members...
