Check your rear brake line. It probably runs under the swingarm like the 400.
That makes it a bit hard to use the L-Bracket style paddock stand.
There's no bobbin lugs on the swingarm like most bikes made after 2000.
I'm thinking having a go at re-routing the brake line along the top of the swingarm.
I'm assuming you meant a rear paddock stand. The front paddock stand that goes into the steering head will work for you.

Seriously - that block of wood is a great idea if all you are wanting to achieve is getting the wheel off the ground for chain lubing etc. I have used such a thing myself for years and has worked fine on many different bikes. On conventional swingarm bikes place the piece of wood under the right side wheelnut, or end of swingarm - my piece has a rebate to help it slip into place. It has been such a useful tool I was thinking of patenting it - maybe as the "et al world famous in Tawa wheel lifter" but now someone has stolen my idea will have to go back to working for a living to fund my retirement. PS if anyone is interested I can post a photo of my special piece of wood (settle people) and the dimensions, because my one is an ideal length for most bikes.

Be careful buying the really cheap and cheerfull padock stands. The slip joints crap out pretty fast. Theyll dump ya bike on the dirt pretty fast.
The old addage bigger is better doesn't apply with pit stands.
