my first testing officer was never on a bike in his life, and he failed me for being too slow. Fair enough. I was doing 40 most of the way.

My second testing officer was a veteran biker. He passed me perfect mark for doing everything he said: including doing 55-60 most of the way.

There are good apples, and there are bad apples.

By the way, as far as I know, they have NEVER used ear-piece thingy (written in the road-code book) at all.

Now it's another 18 months before he can get a 'real' license. (6, if he's over 25...)
Nup. Attracted too much attention (both my 250s were shared a chassis with the 500cc model, no gn 250 for me so cops kept pulling me over for "cc checks") and they kept getting stolen.
so when the third went just left the bolts in to be able to say "it was there when I left officer honest

IMHO all vehicle drivers should learn to drive on gravel and slippery surfaces. This way people will learn to control their vehicle. Just like a lot of people used to before they started straightening roads because people couldn't stay on them.

Hell yeah I had to do a three point turn and a hill start on loose gravel, (pumice and scoria) without "disturbing" it before dad let me go on a real road.

My T&T tested did not fail me for running a red light, because it was to recover from a jacknife(wet roads, empty trailer, downhill).

I would have failed my three point turn across a downhill but "you knew when to stop and try again"(three inches from the parked car)
So most testers are reasonable if they can see the logic

someone went 4 their 'basic handling course' the car park where the held it was ripped up & the coures couldent be done. the trainers appoligized to the group and told them the next course in 3 weeks...trainer spoke to her & told her to stay behind he wanted to talk to her.....she was asked what she rode he then wrote out the the basic handling cetificate & gave it to her, (a guy also got one) .........was it becouse they were the only 2 in full leathers, boots etc......or is it possible that a trainer CAN tell how good a rider u are by looking at the way u stand in leather?........or should the put the odd cetificate in the weetbix packet to save him from getting outta bed?......
asked Mom if I was a gifted child ... she said they certainly wouldn't have paid for me.
