    Question Bit of tech HELP!

    Hi All, just a quick question, Finishing off the restore on my old GSXR250 Comming up mint!!. About to refit the exhust pipes and had a thought... Is there some sort of gasket or goo that seals the pipes to the engine ports? never any when I have dismantled, but I find that they dont ever seal very well, I want to do this one propley so thought Id better ask.....Anyone??...

    Try a smear of hi temp silicone sealer - stays soft and is good stuff...

    You can get gaskets for them. And when putting the headers on tighten the bolts evenly.

    Quite - if it's suppose to have a gasket (O ring etc) it should have one for sure. Silicones just to help it seal not to replace it.

    Yep, the heat resistant silicone sealer does a great job, but you really do need to get the right gasket.

    You need to focus on getting the exhaust connection perfectly flush before bolting anything else down tighly, as small gaps are not good.

    I'd expect it to have a copper "oring" type gasket.

    If you can't find local give Spencer a call at Atomic Bikes 09 486 2342, he's in auckland but I'm sure he could put a couple in an overnight bag for you.

    Don't fall for OEM - from memory I think Spencer's aftermarket one's were $7ea
