Here we go - the warning letter from the former Sachs distributor which was linked in the last thread.
Please read the letter if you're considering buying one of these bikes.

Well then. The question remains.
Do i get one? and if i ask the seller of the bike if it's a cheaply made chinese ripoff - Will he answer truthfully? What if it does turn out to be a cheap ripoff? What are my options?

We'll, I've test ridden one courtesy of Motorcycle Imports down Tuam st, just around the corner from me.
Pictures do not do the bike justice! The engineering in the bike is fantastically thought out and if anything, i enjoyed looking at it, more than riding it
To ride, i thought it was absolutely brilliant! Accelerate normally and you really do feel the torque and suprisingly is wasn't that slow. Albeit a far cry from my Zxr250 of old
Open up the throttle till just over half way and the sound is niice, for a single banger!. You can easily hear a deep burble that seems to come from the first 2 inch of exhaust pipe & echo's in your helmut.
The chassis/frame is communicative too. I could feel the slight flex of the sidewall when i chucked it right......... then left without braking for a corner at all![]()
lol
A few critizims tho. The seat is to wide at the front and caused some discomfort in my inner thighs, The choke needs a spring on the end of the lever or something. A choke should have some feel to it . It felt as daft and as disconnected as love making is virtually -_-. And my biggest crit of all this is the branding.
I'd never heard of Sach's before coming across this bike on Tardeme. This does not fill me with confidence when it comes to finding parts \ support etc!~
I am getting one.. Just gotta wait for the delivery for a matt black 125

see link
please post the changes you make.
my girlfriend (KB name Madass) has one and we'll be modding it too...
prob an engine swap - seems to be the most cost-effective as the pitbike places can sell decent 110 or 125s for $5-600 with carb , ignition etc.
just bolt them up - but you will lose the electric start..

Yea sounds like a plan. TBH i was thinking something a bit more technical and supercharging it, as i just LOVE the supercharger whine![]()
But in the end, whatever i do has to be unique. I'm thinking nos & or superchargerI already have a turbo that i've stripped down to a compressor housing and pulley, and that's intended for another project. hmm what to do.
Here's some of the feasible idea's i've had tho.
Gear reduction \ lengthen.
Cam grind
Porting (very feasible as i have a die grinder with appropriate tools.)
aftermarket exhaust from neptunemufflers.co.nz *shameless plug*
Lightweight rims
Better tyres
Carbon rear tyre huggers (although mainly cosmetic)
POD filter?
Intake Tract shortening (mainly to get rid of the ripples in those horrid tubes (less turbulence)
LArger carb
Jetted carb
Feel free to add any ideas

i visited a mini mx bike shop right on the panmure roundabout -i think the guy's name was richard. he used to sell the madass and reckons an engine swap is the best idea - keeps it reliable.
he said a pod filter and carb rejet makes a big difference - along with the ignition and a freer exhaust if you don't want to bolt up a newer motor..
take a look here too...
