Yep and there is 4 of them on this bargain non existent DR Dreams are free aye

Talking of E09s if your keen to do the CCA ride stick some on for ago and when they are done pick what you like - easy. They last longer on road than similar other tyres like the D606 or MT21 but are not "quite" so good off road/gravel. The E09s are noisier than the E07s though.

Hi, won't be doing the CCA ride unfortunately. Have just sold our toy farm and will be in the process of moving etc (read broke!)

It's not the noise but the vibration the E07's induce. They're not out of balance as I had them balanced when fitted, and had a go at doing it myself again a few weeks ago. Oldrider mentioned it too - made his mirrors vibrate loose! Maybe it's just a TA650 thing with these tyres? Otherwise I'd be happy with them, especially for the price. Metzeler Sahara's are similar and might be worth a try.

Was toying with the idea of trying TKC80's for the CCA as they have good write up's on several of the Transalp sites, reasonable in shingle & easy trail (& might help me follow you lot a bit easier!) and on seal and with good mileage, probably more so with my nana riding, but expensive.

Conundrums! Just need another bike or three or four and a money tree Cheers, Tim.
Sometimes you wish it was easier, but if it was, everyone else would do it, then you remember you don't want to be like everybody else!

Interesting, I've had the E07 on the DR and the older Transalp but never noticed any extra vibration myself on them.

No, actually I've got E07s. Not sure where you got E09s from. They certainly are noisy (I think it sounds cool), I haven't had any vibration dramas though.... and mine were never balanced. Tell you what Tim, a modest proposal along the lines of Ryan's. I'll swap you my genuine non vibrating 600 with aftermarket paint job (I was going for for the spray can look) for your silly old vibrating 650. Sound like a fair swap?

TA use to run a E09 on the rear of the 600 TA. I believe that this the tyre that DAS got me to contact you about picking up?

Don't drink the koolaide. Big windsceens are noisy, ugly things that do more to ruin a ride than enhance it.

If I pick up a test bike and it has a large windscreen fitted I ask for it to be removed if possible.

    Agreed 100% with this comment.

I ride a Thriumph Daytona 675 (sports bike), but looking for a 2nd bike for a bit of adv touring. Rode the KLR 08 the other day - a VERY nice easy ride and wind protection was spot on ... nothing into my chest or head (I am 5" 11').

Anyway .. worth a look. Agree how in NZ doesnt have much of a following - but google it to see how well they are thought of world wide.

KLRs don't have a huge following here (Given Kawasakis crap advertising and the decided lack of interest in them by the bike magazines it's amazing any are sold here at all) however they have almost cult status in the US with a huge array of aftermarket accessories available. Apparently there is a taller screen , as well as a gel seat and soft panniers sold by Kawasaki but I wouldn't hold my breath about these being available in NZ.

(the picture's crap, and cuts off the bit that was being asked about)

Apparently if you stumble on a good size/shape screen for your size/shape there are benefits to a big screen.

A little warning though about screens and rough roads, I've managed to hit myself in the head with screens on both a F650 Dakar and KTM 640 Adventure. Note some poor chap at 3:07 of this video.

I didn't hurt myself at all, but some people have done themselves some injuries, just something to think about when looking at screens.
