    Trick Fairing Solutions Ltd?

    Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone from here has dealt with these guys and what your experience was like.

Just been browsing through their website, they seem to have a comprehensive range of products, ABS Fairings, Carbon Fibre Parts, Windscreens ect ect.

    http://trickfairings.co.nz/index.php

    Any feedback would be good.

    Thanks.

well it`d be good except they`re a complete rip off. you can land any of those fairing sets off ebay for $7-900 nzd incl shipping. they are probly dealing direct with hong kong so wouldnt be surprised if they`re getting them for 200ish +ship a set

Yes you are right, but then again they are running a business and have to have a margin to make profits.

Some people aren't on ebay, in fact I'd say majority internet users in NZ would not be for their own reasons.

Some like to deal with NZ based companies so I guess for them these guys would be ideal.

and has any of these happened to you? ive bought 3 sets now with out any drama except once when i wanted an extra windscreen which he forgot to include, he then sent it and gave me free frame sliders which arrived a week later. Anyway if any thing gets damaged or lost theres this thing called INSURANCE which all the guys on ebay include in the shipping price. (for expensive fairings anyway) And thats way theres feedback for re replying to emails. if he has shit feedback you dont buy from him its simple.

Wrong, it's not as simple as you make it sound. There are some people (read most) who cannot really be assed going through all that shit to save few hundred dollars and I am of them. So the reason not to use eBay or other overseas online based stores.

And there are some online eBay stores who have more than 20,000 feedback with more than 99% positive feedback which still means they have hundreds of negative feedback. Get my drift fella?

it is as simple as i make it sound unless your obviously retarded like your self. i now have 94 feedback on my ebay account, all of which have been bike parts and ALL of which have been exactly as described, and have turned up within 2 weeks of buying, not a single hassle with ANY transaction. You obviously havent used ebay and are just running off sum 1 elses 1 in 100 problem. And its not savig a few hundred with these fairings, its THOUSANDS, the last set of gsxr fairings i bought i could buy 3 SETS and have $250 cash left over after buying 1 SET from trick fairings. 3 sets $250 > 1 set.

Or my mate (chrislost) bought some and they worked perfectly fine until he crashed, in which case they probably held up better than the OEM ones.

best price in NZ for Yoshimura Stainless tri-oval for an 07 Yamaha FZ1 = $1150 and two weeks wait time.

landed from ebay in two weeks for $636 + customs charge = mint deal.

and for the record I haven't had any trouble buying anything from ebay - just ask your questions before you buy, i've bought fairings, exhasts, car parts, watches and the list goes on, all with no trouble - compared to Trademe where i've been dicked around, had buyers pull out, or things being not as described. I'd say i've bought as much from ebay as I have from trademe, if not more. It's actually very simple.

thats because on trademe your dealing with muppets like the 3 guys posting above. you dont have to pay customs most the time eitha, just ask them to write a lower value on the invoice and it goes straight through

this is a really bad idea.

and particularly in the US, most reputable companies wont even do it. (Its called "wire fraud" in the states and is a federal crime carrying very severe penalties: it comes under their anti-terror and anti-money laundering laws).

Check out getting stuff from the UK, often the shipping is comparable cost, the time delay is LESS, and because they dont charge VAT (equivalent of GST but charged at 17.5%) then the landed cost can be worthwhile. Check the exchange rate though, and how much your credit card company will bone you as well.

the fact is that Customs wont bother to collect the duty if the duty to be collected is <$50, so up to $400 in value you are OK.

Over that, budget to pay GST, bonus if it slips thru.

yep those customs guys are real stupid and easy to fool. It has never occurred to them that tricky people might use falsified documents.

Well not really actually...you would if you were comparing 'made in NZ' vs 'imported' but in this case, if these are the same fairings then its really just a money changing hands transaction and no extra 'real' value has been added (apart from the obvious benefits of dealing with a local company should things go tits up). The point is, you pay another NZ company money and they still purchase goods from overseas so the money is still going offshore which does not 'help our country' as you describe, in essence.

For the record, I have no problem with companies doing this and they serve a market as has been described, but don't get confused about what the money chain is, thats all.
