I have a Nissan Avenir 2l Diesel, whose main claim to fame is that is was cheap (ie free - it was given to me when I left my old job) and gets 50mpg of diesel.
'Er indoors drives a AE92 Corolla, with (courtesy of the previous owner) a Lynn Rogers motor, some serious headwork, balanced crank, rods and pistons, featherweight flywheel and a set of 4-2-1 extractors to Lynn's secret recipe. And Koni GP shocks. looks standard, and went damn well before old age and 2 car seats slowed it down a bit.

Not cheap either I must say, but one must keep ones vehicle in top order, say what.

Actually, despite much mocking the rangie has been faultless. Sure its in getting the suspension sorted at the moment, but I knew that was required when I bought it. Must say travelling to work on these cold mornings with the climate air set high, the heated leather seats warming my body and listening to Jay Z vs Linkin Park through the Harmon Kardon audio is a lot more attractive than dragging the bike out of the shed.

Tennis or Polo- must've been a hard choice old chap.
Good to see your keeping it in top order, hope you didn't buy it from the same dodgy outfit where I got my GT. Rangies are supposed to be bloody good off road- tried it yet?

I'd love to take you up on that offer pal!

The right person behind the wheel in a Subaru/Mitsi Evo (or any decent 4x4 turbo) would give most litre bikes a run for their money mate (on windies)!.....

    I'd have to disagree.
On a track, the bike will eat the car. Any road car.
On the road, he might keep up (doubtful) until the first lot of traffic.

Only time I drive a car is when the bike aint working. So at the moment it's a Toyota Corona.

I'll define my argument a little more here.

mikey on his 250 will struggle against a lot of cars, v8's, turbo's etc, on the track, or on the road, anywhere, my argument is, his 250RR would not have the power or top end speed to compete against these types of cars.

Traffic aside, a late model turbo and some of the late model v8's will give most bikes a run for there money, esp in the windies, open road may be a different story. I've pushed bikes going up the parapara several times, ok I know the road and maybe they didn't, but the corning of a car in the right hands can be quicker than a bike I reckon.

I took out an infamous TVR (cersumthinorrather), that hangs around whangarei I was racing him on SH14 towards dargaville (nice in fun that road!), they guy drives a speed 6 in the NZ GT1(?) champs - and won the last round.

Anyway I completely made a fool of him

And I know Roo and his group did the same (and they had a ZZR250).

So I dont think your point is very valid, but then in saying that I was on the 195 limiter most of the time on the straight bits, But now I'm derestricted I can go find him again and have more fun
