    I am bringing Sexy back!

Yeah! Lol. Back on it guys, after almost a year off. Feels great and it's a awesome bike! Been looking for a ZX6R 636 either 03 or 04 model for a while now. Finally got one in the colour I like as well I like the seat height of the 03 04 model as well as the suspension and I think it's one of the best looking modern sports bike. Enough power compared to my 250 and 400 to keep me entertained for a while. The brakes and suspension is awesome, just love it.

Bought it 1.5 weeks ago and have taken it for short rides just clocking a few hundred k's to date. Still getting back to riding and hope to do a few long KB rides sometime soon. But all in all I am happy with the deal and the machine.

Just had a few small n0o0b questions:

I've got pilot powers rear with more than 70% thread I'd say and the front is 2CT, put on brand new just before I bought it. Is that a good combination? How much stickier is the 2CT's compared to Pilot Powers?

After my last accident (got taken out by a red light runner) and breaking a few bones and going through surgery I've decided not to commute with stupid Aucklanders. 10 years ago our society wasn't like this. But anyways I'll leave that discussion to another day. I am mainly going to use it for weekend rides away from traffic and hope to do lots more track days this year since I will be graduating soon.

So is that combination ok or shall I get 2CT on the rear as well? I am running them on 38 34 psi? What do you guys run your 180 and 120 tyres on?

Manual says minimum 95 octane fuel. If I were to use 98 would that be any better than, say 96 or 95? What do you guys use?

The guy I bought it off was much lighter than myself and he got the suspension set up for his weight. Who would be the best person to get the suspension set up from? Again I am not planning on sticking ohlins or anything, just want to make sure it's best set up for me.

10W-40 SE. I've always used castrol. Should I be using semi synthetic or fully synthetic? Any other brands I should try out for some other reason?

I thinking of getting a dark screen for it but don't want double bubble, where shall I get one from? It's not on TradeMe and I am not on e bay, don't know how to use it What would it cost?

It did not come with the rear cowl again how much would that cost? Can anyone from here source these for cheaper than what dealers would charge me?

I was thinking of tail tidy too but can't make up my mind as to whether it's a good idea or not? I mean those big indicators still aren't big enough for some blind drivers on the road, although getting rid of the big spade at the back would look nice!

Few other things before I bore you lot, tank pad, crash bungs, air filter, halogen lights ?? I will be sussing out other mechanical stuff soon, clutch, chain, sprockets and valve clearances. It's got 30,000 k's on the clock and clutch is fine. How long do they normally last? Don't think the last owner was pulling wheelies on it. But I am not sure about the clutch.

Enjoy the pics! It's great to be back on two wheels

Thanks mate, true and too true. The k's are a little bit higher than what I was looking for, but could not let this go. You hardly spot blue/red/orange ones in these.

Been on TradeMe almost everyday for the last 2 years and in that time frame I've only spotted 3 blue 03/04 636's. The guy chucked it up at 3pm (I almost got a heartattack when I saw the ad) and got a call at 3.01pm and I was viewing the bike from 4pm-5pm and purchased and got it dropped off at 5pm. The deal was done and dusted by 6pm. He was surprised and so was I.

Did it because I missed it once, some dude was selling his and it went within 3 days. Thought I'd be the bastard this time.
