Colour me old and conservative, but I think thats correct. I do remember that cat rider and I never thought it was fair on the animal, who cant possibly judge the risks of something like that and relies on their human to keep them safe. Just having a dog or such sitting in an open box on a bike or WORSE perched on its tank is (I feel) outrageous and should be punished with much spanking.

hmm, you're a motorcyclist, you know about the risks involved, but ya still do it? if I were any cat in the world I would be Rastus, he did something truly unique and awesome. it wasn't exactly his choice, but he obviously liked it and was good at it.

I can see your point of view (I own pets too) but overall I thought it was cool. If you could speak to the cat or dog and say "hey dude, wanna come for an adventure with me rather than just stay home today? It'll be dangerous, there's not much for you to hold on with and if you fall off you could die. Wanna come?"...I betya they'd just about always say "shit yeah count me in!".... especially dogs.....that's what I reckon anyway.

Thats so true. I know my girl would be keen, she's a little wary of the bike but gets excited and has tried to sit on the seat a couple of times when I've called her up. It's very cute.
My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.

Its cute, and great, but ... its a bit like the seatbelt problem. Now maybe some smart dude could design an purpose-designed small animal carrier to fit onto a motorcycle tank ... and would somehow allow those tank mounted speedos to still be visible .... and then make a motorcycle proof against angora kidlets (just joking, ok?)
