HA HA, I see one of those parked in the teacher's carpark at school most days, I'm guessing some teacher owns it, not sure who it is though. I feel sorry for the person who owns it now that I have read your completely objective review on it

Methinks that the thread was hijacked.

If you need help Mr Random, please call. I have my share of fixing electrical problems over the years. But please have a multimeter handy, I bought a cheap one and it fried.

    Many thanks, Dr Bob.

My thinking at the moment is that I will buy a FZX250 Zeal next week. Either Blakamin's old one in Welly, or the one I just test-rode half an hour ago at Colemans.

I will then decide what to do with the FXR. Fixing the electrical problem will most likely be necessary, unless I sell it as a non-runner for parts.

I thought it was very nice. Wasn't 40hp. Seat-o-pants-o-meter said more like 32, given that the FXR made 20-and-a-bit-ish, but that's fine. Very comfy. I like it enough to buy it as an FXR replacement. Pulls very well for a 250cc I4.

Colemans want $3995 for theirs, it's up on Bikepoint. The blue one. Same klicks and general condition as your old one, maybe a little bit shinier from what I can tell, so it's an OK dealer price for a bike that'd go around $2500 on private sale, I guess. If your old one goes before I get to it or doesn't check out, etc, I'll just go buy Colemans' one.

    good stuff!
    sure is purdy....
which reminds me, I repacked the zorsts and put baffles in coz it had none.. was way loud and gutless with none... acceleration improved with baffles
and it looks like the radiator shroud things have been resprayed on that too... they're meant to have a "yamaha" sticker on them.

Put my name on the motor if that's what you end up doing, providing we can agree on a price
