Yes, I have few grates, and I'm a bastard. And a damned fool.

But I'm sure they could've spared a demo bike, given how much I've enriched their coffers this month.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

I can see why you're upset. This will probably make it worse, but although I'm not convinced about the wonderous service at Holeshot, they have always given me reasonable bikes to use while the Gsxr has been getting serviced. They've even let me use the SV1000S a few times which was quite nice I thought (and infinitely better than the GS1200 I thought I was lucky to try!)

I agree - Volties and their ilk are truely woeful machines, worthy only of weaving around carpark cones for the absolute beginner to get their handling certificate on. long live the ZXR two fiddies!

    It's not ALL bad....

Yeah, the SV650 guy at work had a variety of loaner machines from Holeshot while waiting for his 650 to arrive, including the SV1000S, another SV650S, and the GS?1200.

But I've decided I was a bit hard on the Volty, due mainly to being pissed off.
I discovered it does have a couple of redeeming characteristics, and a purpose.
It's great fun over speed humps!
I went down a street infested with them, on the way to picking up my bike, and discovered its aptitude as a speedhumper.
    Err.. speedhumpjumper.
    Whatever...

You come up to your victim, don't bother slowing down, then when you're in imminent danger of encountering the hump, bounce down to load up the SproingOMaticHumperJumper mechanism, then BOIINNNNG! Over you go. Almost fun!

And it did manage to get up to motorway velocities, courtesy of the strong tailwind, but was almost tapped out at 100-ish km/h.

And it's purpose is to make all other bikes look and feel good!

It's good to have my bike back. And I wimped out on telling Rogues Inc that I was unhappy with them. Didn't seem much point, as they wouldn't do anything about it, nor give a crap. They've had their 453.5924g of flesh, the FahrtSturm for much less than it was worth, and my wallet.
    Time to move on.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

I cant remember having any dreams about bikes. I dont recall having dreams? Somethings wrong with me. (Funny, thats what the doctor told me)
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

Now, I'm not likely to have enough cash to buy a Proper Bike for some time. But I never have those dreams while I'm *riding* the FXR. This is after only a week of being without.

Anyone else had the same experience?
Eeeeeeeeeeeppp! I didn't realise you were bikeless! I haven't been spending a lot of time on here cos work have become a bit more strict about net use - boooo hisssss!

I can totally empathise with ya buddy! I had 1 week of agonising when my bike was out of action, I didn't know what was wrong with it and felt a deep melancholy settling over me at the thought of not having my bike. Now, lucky me, I am back on the bike with a stupider grin than usual, I feel your pain!!!
My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Oh yeah, Firestormer, you may like to look at this: a comparison of a Volty and a CBR250RR

Lies! I tell you; all lies!!
It says the Vaultyhorse is 20HP ! Must be a typo, as my seat-o-the-pants-ometer says it's closer to 0.20HP.
If I'd had a rice pudding this morning, I could've tested that.
(I actually saw a bike mag test where they had the front page pic of the article showing the test bike hooked up to a bowl of rice pudding... )
    ... and that's what I think.

You've obviously not heard the old expression, "Couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding" then?
    It refers to absolute wimpiness.

Ahhh, my bad. I usually don't leave my rice pudding out long enough for it to grow a skin. It is too busy being digested
