Crash, broken leg, damaged bike and hospital. No, not me my oldest son.

Yep. He got collected in a roundabout. Not sure re details. But sounds like his fault.

After 3 hours in the theatre he will be the proud owner of a permanent metal detector trigger. (Steel rod in his shin). Groggy and tired when I did see him, so did not get too many details today. But he will be OK.

His mum is not impressed. "I told you so, bikes are dangerous!!" So we will see what outcome is. Will he get back on, or not...

Have yet to see the bike. Is at the towies yard. Will get her tomorrow and se if the damage is worth repairing.

But main thing is that he will be OK. Some scarring. Mental and physical. But nothing that should hold him back, apart from for 6 - 8 weeks.

So our planned ride to Rock2Wellington might not happen. But we get there. Even if the cage is not how I wanted to arrive, but so be it.

Life. There is always something unexpected around the next bend.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Ouch! Hope he heals well and things are good for you too. Parents are the best thing ever, after having a crash or breaking something.

Ok. Now I can sleep well.

Are mothers taught this phrase in mother school? They trot it out so readily, as if it has been practiced with religous fervour for years on end!
