If Suzuki were so concerned about aerodynamics with the new exhaust why not put it under the seat?

Good question. I'd like to know their reasoning. Whether it was to not immediately follow Honda and Yamaha (and Ducati, and MV. BTW, does anyone know if there was a bike before the rare NR750 that had underseat exhausts? Circa 91-92) to save face or if there is sound aerodynamic benefits involved in it. Maybe the current frame/rear suspension setup doesn"t allow for a system deemed worthy of use?

I don't mind yellow, hell if you save 6 thousand!! no one should.
Man, If I wasn't getting married in Feb, one of those would have my name on it.

When it comes to the new K5 Exhaust, is the small increase in aerodynamics really worth a thing like sticking out the back??

Anyone going to GP Trading's Dyno Open Day on the 27th? in Mt Maunganui??
Hodgeman what is gp trading doing at dyno day??

I must say after looking at 1000k5 up close, the styling is great, the exhust isn't to bad, ya get use to it, by looks of it i might have something like an exup valve or something simlar in it, so it might not just be a simple exhust change, the exhust does fit in with the shape angles of rest of bike, but each to there own

That Guy - yeah that yellow arn't to bad, but i would go for black one first then the yellow dc:<

Underseat exhausts are heavier thanks to all the extra routing.

Wouldn't that put the total weight up higher too? Mind you it must keep one's but warmer on those cooler days

You should get one and say that its a "Wedding present"
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

I think the black one looks the best but I agree that huge can on the side really kills it for me, what were they thinking putting a huge bulbous hunk of steel on the bike like that when it should be sleek and styley.
Seems to me those Suzuki designers have really fucked it up, they should have developed the underseat system.
I think looks wise the Suzuki has gone to last place in the Jappas class

yeah i know great buying i wish now i had waited another 6 months to upgrade and i would have got one of those, thats one thing i miss about about the 1100 over the 600, that top end rush, where the 1000 would have it in spades. and what they are in yellow. ahhh well 600 suits me for time being, (c:<

I reckon all '05 bikes should be well priced too. Yesterday, they said on the news that the Kiwi $ had hit an all-time high against the US $ (NZ$1.00 = US$0.70). If the exchange rate with the Yen follows that trend then it should mean cheaper prices.

Notice how the '04 bikes are so much cheaper than the '02 bikes when the '02 bikes first came out? That's without taking inflation into account too!

    $15995 dave,and $17995 for the 1000

I mean 100 is about 5kgs heavy, alot more power, not thats a biggy for me and you, but what it does have that we use more is tons more torque over the 600

if you are looking to upgrade it would say it would be a bloody good deal at moment to get a 1000k4 okay, even better comes with a yoshi pipe, i am sure there is someone around here who will buy ya micron to.

Okay its in yellow, but i know you love it yellow remember you are a banana man too (c:< come join us on the yellow side tehehehahahahaha

I mean those are an awsome deal at moment.
