dearie me! That's like saying, "I've arrived in Europe, what should I see?"

    Where are you starting from?

    How long have you got?

Do you like the main roads or do you prefer the quiet country roads?

How twisty do you like your twisties?

    How much dosh ya got?

How long do you like to ride each day?

Fill in the blanks and I'm sure you'll get some great pointers from the mob here . . .

Buying a copy of The New Zealand Motorcycle atlas would be a good place to start. It has lots of recommended routes, with descriptions of interesting things along the way, and lots of detail of interesting little back roads you can use to join the recommended routes together

Then once you've narrowed down the areas you want to go to, you'll be able to get lots of useful information from the people here.

Welcome to NZ mate. As Janno said it's a big ask with so little info to go on but heres a few suggestions.

    1. Buy a book entitled, New Zealand Motorbike Atlas,by Hena maps.in all good book stores.

    2. Combine the above with a visit to an I centre for a,things to see and do in NZ booklet+Free acomodation guides, Norf and south Islands.

3.Check out the tours and ride reports on this very site and join one on route,or check out the great ones you've missed.

4.Study and cross referance all of the above plus the help you get from the peeps on here and you'll ave a bostin time our kid.

    5. Finally Don't go back to England, take it from a fellow pom,it would be a silly mistake.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip in bikers paradise mate.

Once you've got your route planned, put up a post to see if any good citizens of KB can offer you a bed and somewhere safe to park the motorbike.

When were you planning to start riding and how long have ya got?

If you make it as far as Invercargill I'm sure we have space on the sofa and space in the garage.

Where in Britain do you hail from? Lots of ex UK fellows/fellasses on KB and throughout the country.

Grab two map books... both by kiwimaps. One for the North Island, one for the South Island. Look for the indexed drivers atlas, it names all the country roads, fantastic for touring.

    As for roads
    • Takaka Hills
    • Buller Gorge
    • Coromandel
    • Waipoua Forest and surrounding areas

probably my top 4, in order
