    Hmmmmmm, interesting....veeerrrrry interesting......

I'd agree with the testers in that despite the fantastic performance the winner is just too fuggin' ugly to ever buy one. I'm stunned at some of the startlingly ugly bikes being generated at the moment.

    Thanks for the vids mate!

The R1 does it for me. However, I have to see the kwaka in the flesh and ride it, if it's anything like the perfect 04/05 ZX10R it will simply sell itself.

The blade sets the fastest time around the track, yet the tester still calls its handling as 'average' and that the sheer grunt of the Honda was why it was the quickest. So, either the track they were testing on was a straight line with only a couple of corners or he's talking out his arse. Surely the difference in power between the top two bikes (FireBlade and ZX10R) is not that vast. Similar to when he says that the GSXR lacks power down low on the track (one of its negative points) yet within two minutes says that the R1 suffers the same but that 'on the track you don't use low revs'.

Thanks for the links, good to watch. But I dear say anyone looking at buying any of these bikes rides them all themselves and ignores what the testers say.

OMG - I can hardly believe this.

I guess all the peeps that rave about the most powerful bikes being the be all and end all will all have to back themselves and get an 08 CBR.

    This is fucken gold.

Funny they never mention the fugly looks of the ZX-10... I'm still trying to decide which one looks worse.

Interesting result. Seems the '08 Blade has inherited the best of street, best of track design philosophy that went into it's little brother.

As for the "brakes blah blah" crap.. Sure that can be sorted pretty easy with pads and/or lines.

Nice of them to let the gixxer have a set of Arrows in the road test to give it a chance

Honda have done a fantastic job returning both CBR's to the top of their respective classes. GSXR on the bottom will be a new feeling for Suzuki after years of consistently great thous.

The bike that looks best and is the most fun to ride, probably the R1.

Gotta go for better looking myself, way I figure it, if it doesn't make me feel good when I open the garage door then I don't want it. Yea i'm shallow, but bikes should be about emotions not stats. Not like any of them are slow anyway. And I actually think they're all ugly! Just my opinion mind.....

Good points OAB. The vids are just something to drool over, only posers would buy a bike based on what a mag says.
Best thou? Well for my money K5/K6 Gixxer Thou.

If new (highly unlikely) then a Blue or White/Red R1.

I think the tester meant the honda didn't feel as fast. The 954's and 1000RR's of the past were rather smooth in their power delivery. A lot diff to the rush of a kwaka thou or urgency of a gix thou.

He did say it didn't feel fast, but then also added that its handling was 'average'. In my humble opinion the FireBlade looks like it feel from the top of the ugly tree, hitting every ugly branch until it hit the ground. Then a lumberjack came along, cut down the ugly tree, which landed on the Honda. The lumberjack then cut the tree up and sold it as firewood, and everyone who bought the wood biffed every piece at the Honda before loading up their trailer. Then Honda released it to the public.*

*This humble opinion may change after viewing the bike in the flesh....

Hahahahahaha! Very true. Will be interesting to see if Honda made a mistake with this one, I think they have, the bike puts function over form and while this might appeal to WSB teams, a lot of road riders will probably pass.

Just a thought - does anyone else see hints of the very first model Blade in the styling? The blunt nose, big headlights, even the square tailight? Maybe thats their plan, now they just need to paint the bastard purple and orange and be done.
